“Qatar Patient Safety Week-QPSW” Poster Exhibition 2015 Poster Competition Submission Guidelines QPSW The 2nd Annual Patient Safety week will be held on the 18 &19 January, 2015 at St. Regis hotel. The QPSW is an annual education and awareness campaign for healthcare safety led by the Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety Department at The Supreme Council of Health. Every year the theme of QPSW will address issues of crucial concern related to Patient Safety as well as reflect the work being done to improve healthcare safety from across the country. The wide number of organizations present at last year’s event displays the fact that everyone has a role to play in improving patient safety, delegates included representatives from: Public health Government organizations Members of the general public Representatives from the Private health providers Supreme Council for Health Educational organizations Poster Competition Following the success of last year’s competition, the Supreme Council of Health is again asking healthcare professionals from across the country to take part in a poster competition to promote patient safety initiatives in their organizations. The posters should promote the work ongoing within your organization to promote patient safety. Prizes will be presented to the top 5 posters. Participation Policy By uploading your abstract, you agree to the following terms of the QPSW Participation Policy: The decision of the posters review committee is final. Plagiarism, duplication, and significant overlap of submissions will result in disqualification. Only Posters submitted online through the conference submission system will be considered for the conference. Any poster received through email, post, or other means will not be considered. With each poster, participants must also complete and submit the following: - Abstract - Declaration Form - Organization Permission & Sponsorship Form At least one author must be available with the poster during the event. All participants are advised to bring their business cards on the day of the event. For further queries: Please contact the Healthcare Quality & Patient Safety Department, Supreme Council of Health Email: QIPS@sch.gov.qa Submission Guidelines Step 1: Selecting a topic Posters submitted must fall into one of the following categories: Education and Training in Patient Safety Integrated Care Patient &Family Engagement /Patientcentered care Leadership and Adverse Event Reporting Governance / Learning from Errors Communication & Team Work Medication Safety Patient Safety Culture Technology & Innovation Infection Control & Prevention Projects can be a completed patient safety improvement projects or ongoing ones. Authors may submit multiple Posters. However, each Poster must be submitted separately with the required document. Posters which have previously been submitted to another conference (local or overseas) may be submitted here. However, Poster submitted in the last QPSW will not be accepted. Step 2: Writing your abstract Each submitted poster must include an abstract not exceeding 500 words Abstract should contain the following headings: Introduction / Background / Summary Aim / Objectives Methods Results / Outcomes Discussion / Conclusion Sustainability / Replication potential Lessons learned / Critical success factors References Step 3: Designing your poster Posters must contain the following details: Title of the poster (project) Name of Author(s) Logo of organization ,SCH & QPSW Main text body - max 500 (details as in abstract) 2 or 3 pictures or graphs / figures Contact details Posters designed with a photo-editing program (e.g. Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator). Design format: Ai, Eps, Jpeg or PDF, Resolution: 300 DPI (at least), and Color : CMYK Posters should be Portrait (100 cm height X 70 cm width) width size All images and fonts should be embedded into the design. Step 4: Poster displaying & presenting Shortlisted posters will be displayed during the event. At least one author must be present with the poster during the event, at which he or she is available to discuss the project with the participants. Authors of shortlisted posters may also be asked for oral presentations of their projects (time will be announced with the event schedule) Important dates Conference open for Posters submissions 17 November, 2014 Posters submission closes 23:59 Doha time on 17 December, 2014 Accepted Posters will be announced by 4 January, 2015 Accepted Posters display day: 18 &19 January, 2015 during 2nd QPSW 5 Winners of the poster competition will be announced on 19 January, 2015 (prize will be 5,000 QR each+ certificate) POSTER EVALUATION Posters will be evaluated according to following criteria: Project quality: - the quality of written content - clarity of background and rationale - appropriateness of methods/approach - interpretation of results Originality and merit: - significance of project - novelty of approach and/or findings-sustainability. Poster design :- creativity and innovative designs.
