PLASTORE PLASTORE The Plasticolor feeder is mounted on a neckpiece installed directly under the production machine’s main material hopper. The feeder then uses a feedscrew assembly to meter the additive material into the primary material stream passing through the neckpiece. The additive feed rate is selected and controlled by a solid-state controller that controls the speed of the motor that drives the feedscrew. Multiple feeders can be used to introduce several materials into the neckpiece at the same time. Each material is simultaneously fed in the right percentages, into a narrow neckpiece where they fall together as a perfect mixture. New AC motors: Our drive motors are totally enclosed with plug-in connectors to facilitate electrical connections. . The motors are available from stock in in several RPM configurations. Basic operation: Free flowing virgin material is fed through the PC3000 at feed rates up to 1,760 pounds per hour. Color or other free flowing additives are fed through the PC2000’s at feed rates of a couple of ounces per hour up to approximately 140 pounds per hour. The material feed rate is accurately controlled by variable speed AC motors driving the feed screws. The Plasticolors are simultaneously started when the material level in the neckpiece reaches the low level sensor. The units will run until the material level in the neckpiece reaches the high level sensor, and will automatically shut off producing small batches of pre mixed material. Connect the sensor to the sensor cable, and the power cord to a 110 VAC power source. 4. Adjust the Level Sensor Sensitivity. Manually fill the hopper with enough material to just cover the face of the sensor. With the small screw driver supplied, turn the sensitivity adjustment screw to its fully counter-clockwise position (least sensitive position), then slowly turn the sensitivity screw clockwise, until the indicating light on the sensor illuminates. Operation When the material in the hopper drains to the level of the sensor, a buzzer will sound, and a flashing, red dome light will light. The optional Plastore Hopper Alarm provides an audible and visual alarm when the material level in a hopper reaches a low level. Pressing the “Acknowledge” button will silence the buzzer, but the flashing red light will continue to flash until the hopper is refilled. Installation 1. Mount the alarm near the hopper to be monitored, in a position that is easily visible to the production machine operator. 2. Install the Level Sensor by drilling or punching a 45/64” hole in the hopper, at a point representing a 10% to 20% capacity point. Install the sensor with ¼ (or more) of the sensor’s length extended into the hopper.
