History
Zayed University has established itself as the premier national university in the UAE and a regional
leader in educational innovation and change. Founded in 1998 and proudly bearing the name of the
Founder of the Nation – the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, this flagship institution has met
the President’s high expectations. Today, Zayed University has campuses in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
that welcome both national and international students.
Zayed University spent its first decade building its core educational programs and aligning them with
internationally recognized quality standards. Having crossed the threshold of excellence expected of
undergraduate institutions, Zayed University moved to the next level by launching its new Abu
Dhabi Campus, a campus that is explicitly aligned with Abu Dhabi’s plans for its future
development.
Zayed University won the City Scape Dubai 2010 prestigious “Industry Choice Award” among 150
submitted projects for its newly completed landmark campus in Abu Dhabi.
Zayed University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (USA), which
assures internationally recognized programs from a quality-assured university.
