Upcoming Events January 10, 2015 Welcome to the Forest Lake Church where we endeavour to live and teach the gospel! PATHFINDERS Club Meeting • Next Meeting: Wednesday, January 21, 6:30 p.m. Primary A Drill Team and Drum Corp Practice will resume on Sunday, January 18. We will NOT be meeting on Sunday, January 11. Pathfinder Bible Experience (Bible Bowl) The Forest Lake Bible Bowl Team will participate in the PBE Challenge on Sabbath, February 7, where they will compete with other teams from around Central Florida on their Bible knowledge. Please pray for our team that have been working hard and studying since last summer. • Meetings: January 14 and 28, 6:30 p.m., LYC MISCELLANEOUS First Impressions Potluck All First Impressions ministers that are greeters for 2nd Sabbath ONLY for all three services (as well as children’s SS entrance doors) are invited to bring a favorite dish (or two) and attend a potluck fellowship meal in the LYC today, January 10 at 1:00 p.m. Families and anyone interested in becoming an alternate are welcome, too. Adventist Forum of Central Florida Ms. Dale Finley Slongwhite will be presenting Not in My Back Yard: A Christian Response to Social Injustice today, January 10, at 3:30 p.m. at the Florida Hospital SDA Church. Ms. Slongwhite, an active member of Kress Memorial SDA Church, will base part of her presentation on five years of research on the devastating impact of agricultural chemicals on African American farm workers in the Apopka, Florida area. Her most recent book, Fed Up: The High Cost of Cheap Food was published by the University Press of Florida in 2014. FLEC 2015-2016 Registration • Beginning Wednesday, January 14 1. The application fee for returning students will be $50 until February 25. The fee will increase to $90 on February 26. Please take advantage of the lower fee by applying early. The registration fee will be $300 due on, or before, August 1. 2. Effective January 14, you may re-enroll through ParentsWeb or our FLEC website—www.myflec.com. 3. Your information is only as accurate as what you supply. Please check for accuracy. Music Concert The King’s Heralds quartet will present a concert at the Forest Lake Church on Saturday, January 17, at 5:00 p.m. Founded in 1927, the King’s Heralds quartet embodies a rich heritage in gospel music, performing a variety of musical styles which makes them a favorite with audiences of all ages. Prison Ministry Frank Barton will be offering the Prison Ministry training course on Sabbath, January 24, at the Poinciana SDA Church, 4900 Old Mt. Pleasant Road, Kissimmee, FL. Our incoming shed was filled to the ceiling this weekend. Adrienne’s sorting room has only a path and the sizing and hanging room finds its volunteers looking for a path to size, pass and hang! We are thrilled with community and church response of merchandise, but our space is so limiting. We are no longer archiving individual sermons, but instead are archiving the Sabbath morning services in their entirety.
