This is an Open Rank, Open Track position. Facult y rank and appointment will be commensurate with accomplishments. The successful applicant should have a track record of clinical excellence and expertise with experience in translational research and clinical trials. The successful candidate will have experience in establishing a ser vice of adult autologous/st s em cell bone marrow transplantation along with new experimental gene - based and cell- based therapies. Experience in ser ving as a mentor for younger facult y and the abilit y to develop and lead a strong multidisciplinar y hematology malignancy team within the Universit y of New Mexico Cancer Center is highly desirable. Significant start up funding and recurring support will assure success. Minimum qualifications for the position include: 1) MD degree with board certification in Internal Medicine; 2) board certification/eligibilit y in Hematologyy or Hematologyy Oncology; and 3) must be eligible to work in the U.S.; this is not a J -1 Visa opportunit y. The candidate will join an experienced and dedicated multidisciplinary FACT accredited and FDA registered program, offering allogeneic (related and unrelated) and autologous SCT. Many patients are registered on institutional, SWOG and consortium investigational protocols. The Intermountain Blood and Marrow Transplant Program’s referral base consists of the Intermountain West area (Utah and surrounding states) and performs approximately 80 SCT’s yearly. The Acute Leukemia Program receives newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients who are candidates for intensive induction. The program currently employs 6 experienced transplant/leukemia Hem/Onc physicians and 10 midlevel providers as well as an extensive and excellent dedicated nursing and ancillary staff.
