Business works around street projects

The construction has not only impacted drivers but the businesses
and residents in the area as well.

The six-month long facelift of the
street in Thunder Bay started in
April, causing some motorists to rethink how they get around the city.
The first stage focused on the areas
between Stephens Street to Clavet
pacted the business but that’s to be
expected during construction season. He explained Peartree knew the
project was going to get underway
and took steps to mitigate it.
They opted to provide free delivery service. He said the city gave
them notice in the winter.
“We certainly understand that
during the construction season
that’s the time when these types of
things have to be done,” he said.

and gave them alternative route to
our business. In general, there has
been an impact but maybe not has
much as other businesses. . . . It’s always tough as a business.”
Lemarquand added that unlike
other parts of the city, there’s still
two main roads — Algoma and Court
— that drivers can still use.
