OPENING AND PRESENTATION OF AWARDS
Will be on SATURDAY, 2nd MAY 2015, 6pm to 8pm
JUDGING STAGES
The initial judging stage is by photograph entry.
Shortlisted entries will be emailed (or posted)
by 15th April 2015, and invited to submit
actual artwork/s (detailed delivery instructions will
be included). The second judging stage will be the
selection of artworks to be hung for exhibition for final
judging of awards. Non-selected artists at this second
stage will be notified by 27th April.

Must be received no later than THURSDAY, 2nd April
2015 (late entries will not be accepted).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Entry forms and photos must be received no later than
Thursday, 2nd April 2015.
2. A maximum of two paintings per artist.
3. We are looking for fresh artworks, therefore: Works that have previously won any awards are not
eligible. Works previously exhibited at the Peters
Doig Marlborough Art Awards are not eligible.
Works that have previously been exhibited at the
Yealands Estate Marlborough Gallery are not eligible.
4. All work must be original. No art class or tutored work,
reproductions, prints or computer generated art will be
accepted.
5. The longest side of a painting, including the frame, must not
exceed 1020mm. Metal frames are not accepted.
6.Entry forms must be accompanied by an A4
photo of the work(s). It is in the artist’s interest to print on
photographic quality paper (not inkjet). A second
photo may be sent to show scale of the painting
beside a person or object (not revealing your identity).
On the reverse, the artist’s name, the title of the work,
medium, image size, and price must be clearly shown.
If the photograph is to be returned a stamped, selfaddressed envelope should be included.
7. Entry fee is non-refundable. $35 for one artwork, $50
for two artworks. If paying by cheque, it should be made
payable to The Marlborough Art Society, and
enclosed
with
the
entry
form.
Alternativey,
payment may be made directly to our account: Marlborough Art
Society 03-0599-0243403-01 (please include your name and
reference: PDMAA).
8. Artists whose work is selected from the initial stage of
judging from photos, will be required to submit actual
artwork/s (delivery instructions provided). The final judging stage
will be the selection of artworks to be hung for exhibition. Nonselection of this stage will be notified by 27th April.
9. All work selected for exhibition will be considered for the awards.
10. The decision of the selectors shall be final and no
correspondence or disussion will be entered into.
11. All work must be for sale and a commission of 30% will be charged
on all sales.
12. Only entries on this form or a copy will be accepted.
13.Non-local artists are responsible for the return of any
unsold artworks. Return courier tickets must be supplied, or freight
forward arrangements made and notified.
14. Whilst all due care and attention is taken to safeguard
submitted artwork, The Marlborough Art Society are
unable to be held responsible for any loss or
damage caused, or non-collected work. Therefore
we
strongly
recommend
artists
arrange
their
own insurance cover for the transit and display of their artwork.
15.Local artists are responsible for the collection of artworks
at the conclusion of the exhibition, or a storage fee of $2
per week applies. Artworks will only be released upon
signature from the artist or a nominated person.
