We pray for those known to us and those who are ill, recently bereaved, homeless, lonely, sad or in difficulty and distress. Please continue to pray especially for Elisabeth HOBBS and Frank PONNIAH. Also for Margaret WHEELTON suffering severe back pain and undergoing treatment. For old friends Mike & Hazel O’DONOGHUE, Mike is in hospital with heart problems, so Hazel is staying at The Grange Nursing Home. For Phil BURNHAM’s mum, unwell. ALPHA 2015 BEGINS ... Our next 10 week ALPHA COURSE begins this Monday 2nd February at The Vicarage. Including ‘Christianity – boring, untrue and irrelevant?’ ... ‘Who is Jesus’ ... ‘Why did Jesus die?’ ... ‘How can I be sure of my faith?’ ... Monday evenings begin with a meal together, followed by a DVD and coffee/chat. We’d love to welcome new (and old) faces - come and meet new people and explore the Christian faith together. Pick up a leaflet and return to The Vicarage or the Office. POSSIBLE NEW WORSHIP VENTURE : KEEP PRAYING! A small group of us have been praying and talking through some ideas for those not presently being reached/included by St. Peter’s. We are considering a Sunday afternoon meeting about 4.30pm in a local school hall. Please would you pray with us for this: To have wisdom in the planning, that we would hear what God has in mind. That we would raise a small, committed, united team to run such an event. And as you pray if you feel this could be something you could get involved with, please speak to either Tim or Sue. CHERTSEY MUSEUM : Wednesday 4th FEBRUARY – to mark the 800th Anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta at Runnymede, the Museum is opening a new exhibitioin – 6 – 8.30pm – there’s wine! On Thursday 12th FEBRUARY the museum celebrares its 50th Annivesary (and the Friends their 21st birthday!) Malcolm Loveday, Chair of The Chertsey Society and Emma Warren, Curator of the museum invite you to an informal look at how the town and museum has changed since 1965. Doors open 7pm. Talk 7.30pm. Next Friday 6th February is FOOD FOR THOUGHT – do come along for a time of worship, fellowship and a delicious lunch prepared by our terrific FFT team at 12.15pm. Have a go at answering Norman’s cryptic questions! £1 in the wall safe please. Those who know ANNE DOLLERY, are warmly invited to her INSTITUTION AND LICENCING. Do come along at 7.30pm on Wednesday 25th February to St. Dunstan’s Church, St. Dunstan’s Road, FELTHAM, followed by a reception in the Church. The church has arranged parking in a nearby local school. At 11.00am on Saturday 28th February the Inauguration Ceremony for the new Bishop of Guildford, the Rt Revd Andrew Watson takes place at Guildford Cathedral. Please pray. Bishop Andrew will then preach for the first time at the Cathedral at the 9.45am Eucharist on Sunday 1st March. The Bishop will be visiting Runnymede Deanery in April, and we are hosting a service here at St. Peter’s Church to which all are invited at 8pm on Monday 20th April with refreshments afterwards in the Church Hall. Pop the date in your diary! WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER Praying for the Bahamas : 11.30am Friday 6th MARCH at St. Peter’s Church followed by refreshments afterwards in the Hall. Do come along to this special service. Our special MOTHERING SUNDAY Service is at 10am on Sunday 15th MARCH. Do come and receive a THANK YOU posy. FOODBANK NEWS ... As well as 500g bags of sugar, sponge puddings and tinned meat, FOODBANK warmly welcome toiletries, loo rolls, small boxes of washing power and washing up liquid.
