How to Add Enterprise PDM Serial Number to
SolidNetWork License Manager
Starting with version 2015, SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM uses the SolidNetWork License Manager
Server (SNL Manager) to manage the distribution of Enterprise PDM licenses.
Use this guide to help you add your Enterprise PDM serial number to your installation of the SNL
Manager.
Before you begin
Ensure that the SNL Manager is in the appropriate version. The SNL Manager must be of
version 2015 (23.0.0.5020) or newer. Upgrade the SNL Manager if necessary.
 Here is where to verify. In the server machine hosting the SNL Manager Server service,
Navigate to Start > All Programs > SOLIDWORKS 20XX > SOLIDWORKS Tools > Open
SolidNetWork License Manager 20XX


Ensure that you have your 24 digit Enterprise PDM serial number handy.
 If you do not have your 24 digit Enterprise PDM serial number, contact GoEngineer

Installing the Enterprise PDM serial number
This process consists of modifying the SNL Manager installation, adding the serial Enterprise PDM
serial number, and completing the installation modification.
1. In the server machine hosting the SNL Manager Server, Click Start > type “Programs and
Features” > Press Enter.
2. Find “SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager” > Right mouse click and select
Change.
3. Click Next on the welcome screen.
4. Select Modify and click Next.
5. Enter the 24 digit Enterprise PDM serial number. If you have a SOLIDWORKS serial
number already populated, separate the Enterprise PDM serial number with a comma.
Click Next when finished.
6. Click Install
7. When the process completes, click Finish.

Activating the Enterprise PDM Serial Number
It is now necessary to activate the Enterprise PDM serial number for the SNL Manager to distribute
the licenses.
1. Open the SNL Manager application.
Navigate to Start > All Programs > SOLIDWORKS 20XX > SOLIDWORKS Tools > Open
SolidNetWork License Manager 20XX.
2. Under the Server Administration tab, click on “Modify…”
3. Select “Activate/Reactivate a software license”. Click Next.
4. On the SolidNetWork License Information window, make sure that the checkbox for “A
firewall is in use on this server” is selected. Click Next
5. Click the “Select All” button; ensure you have "Automatically over the internet” and you
have entered your email address. Click Next.

6. On the Activation/Reactivation Succeeded window, review our activated product then
click Finish.
7. The SolidNetWork License Manager is now managing the distribution of Enterprise PDM
Licenses. To be able to acquire a license, ensure that the Enterprise PDM clients have
TCP/IP ports 25734 and 25735 open for inbound and outbound traffic.
