JOB POSTING International Relations POSITION TITLE: REPORTS TO: LOCATION: POSITION AVAILABLE: International Account Manager Director, International Relations Toronto 1 OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY: The primary focus of this position is to maximize the collection of revenues / royalties owed to our members for their performances in other territories. This position is responsible for actively managing SOCAN’s top tiered societies representing over 90% of SOCAN’s international revenue. You will focus on proactive inter-action and relationship building with societies and from an operational perspective assist in developing / enhancing IR processes, activities, initiatives and programs critical to maximizing international revenue growth. Liaise with other SOCAN departments as required. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure member claims / queries directed at foreign societies are being responded to and resolved in a timely manner Utilize third party data to effectively scope out potential unpaid SOCAN member international performances / royalties Develop and nurture relationships with SOCAN’s top tiered societies and compile, collate and disseminate international business intelligence (includes but not limited to distribution methodology, organizational structure, financial information, tariff and licensing schemes etc.) As required, educate / communicate with members and Membership alike on international royalties / standards Examine / define / develop possible improvements to IR activities, business procedures and related processes Exchange information and develop value added reports / analysis with other managers, staff and other groups (i.e. Membership, Finance) on issues related to international revenue Support and lead corporate and departmental projects and initiatives as required Support and work with IT to define relevant user requirements and corresponding testing as required Other duties as required SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Post-secondary Education or an equivalent of related education and experience Highly proficient with MARIE, MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Excel, Word), Lotus Notes, BEST and SOCAN online initiatives Proficiency with third party service provider offerings e.g. Eurodata TV Ability to motivate and drive results Strong relationship building skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong time management and organizational skills ATTRIBUTES: Results oriented Systematic/Forward/ Analytical/Innovative thinker Industry knowledge Problem solving/decision-making Strongly self-directed Team oriented Competitive Service oriented Strongly self-motivated Diplomatically aggressive APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Qualified applicants are invited to apply in writing to Human Resources – Sara Smolej – Toronto Office, and include an updated copy of your resume. If you already work a 4-day workweek, you may be required to change your day off.
