ITAPOME74) Milan-Expo 2015 Introduction The British Consulate-General in Milan is part of the world-wide Foreign and Commonwealth Office network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for one Project Officer for the UK Pavilion at Milan Expo 2015, to integrate UK Trade & Investment team. The position is based in Milan and the contract will be from 2 March to 31 December 2015, or in agreement with British Consulate-General. The UK will have a world class presence at the Milan Expo 2015, a global event and cultural exchange addressing one of the most pressing issues of our time - how to feed the world’s growing population. The UK’s presence will increase British trade and inward investment, by showcasing entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation – especially in food, science and technology. The role of the Project Officer in preparation and during the Milan Expo 2015 is to support the Post in Milan and in particular the UKTI team in Italy and London while also working with UK Regions and Devolved Administrations. Main Duties / Responsibilities Supporting the Marketing Strategy Planning and delivery of events Local liaison with the Expo organisers Logistical arrangements for visits Supporting relationships with local stakeholders in Italy The Project Officer will have a flexible approach relating to changes in priorities and objectives, will contribute new ideas and ways of ensuring high quality services. The Project Officer will be an integral part of the wider Italy based at the British Consulate in Milan and will be responsible for the relevant duties reporting directly to the Head of the Expo Lead, Marketing and Events Team in Italy. He/She is expected to travel throughout Italy and to the UK and other countries if required. Required Experience & Skills Fluency in Italian and English (both written and oral). Good knowledge of industry and business issues in both UK and Italy. Strong experience related to event organisation together with a business background and be capable of working in an international environment, engaging confidently with senior interlocutors. Ability to work within a team. Good communication and influencing skills. Good IT skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office package. Ability to deal efficiently with a wide range of external contacts. Ability to apply strategic awareness in activity planning. Terms and Conditions The position is at B3L level. The grades for locally engaged staff are D6L, C5L, C4L, B3L, A2L, A1L, S3, S2, S1, D6L being the highest. Working hours are 35 per week Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00. Some degree of flexibility is expected. The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance, as well as three month probation. The monthly gross salary is €2,349.21 gross, minimum of the B3(L) salary scale. There are 14 salaries in each year with double salary payments in June and December. Income tax arrangements will depend on nationality. Income tax (IRPEF) at rates set by the Italian Government is withheld from gross salary. The successful candidate will be enrolled in the Italian State Social Security scheme (INPS). Terminal Gratuity Payments (TFR) are made in line with the relevant Italian legislation. Staff recruited locally by the British Diplomatic Posts in Italy are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Italian employment law.
