College of Central Florida is hosting Preview Night 2015 at the Levy Center, March 5th. Students interested in attending
the College of Central Florida in the fall should attend. All those who attend will have the application fee waived.

I would like to congratulate 9th grader, Randi Williams as January Student of the Month. She was
voted by the faculty and staff from the following teacher nomination, they had this to say this about
Randi. “I love the fact that she "stands up for students" when no one else does. She is an excellent
student in my CCC class who always finishes her assignments early. She is a joy to have in class
every day. She makes my job easy”.
Jaycie Anderson is Chiefland Middle Student of the Month for January. Jaycie gives her all. She
gives 100% effort. She pays attention in class, asks questions and is serious about learning

Congratulations!!! We are so proud of Austin Vincent and Willie Brannon who are going on to
play Football at the collegiate level. Austin Vincent will be earning his Ivy League education
while playing football for D1 FCS Brown University! Willie Brannon will be a Wildcat playing for
D1 FCS Bethune Cookman in Daytona. These two young men make INDIAN NATION proud!!!

general public beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Scholarship Opportunities
Applications for the Sevin/Ellis Scholarship through the Florida Credit Union are now available to families of Florida Credit Union
Members. The award is for 12th graders who plan to continue their education in the year following graduation. Florida Credit Union
membership is available to all who work or reside in the county. Even if a student’s family does not currently have an account with
us, they can open a simple savings account for $5.00 in order for their child to be eligible for this award. Applications are available
at https://www.flcu.org/about-us/scholarships.
Plum Creek Community Scholarship Applications are available in the front office. Seniors are encourage to stop by and pick up an
application. The deadline to complete the application is January 27th.
If you are interested in becoming a teacher, the Florida Retired Educators Foundation is offering a scholarship. This
scholarship pays $3,250 over a four year period. Applications are available in the front office. The deadline to turn in
the application to guidance is Friday, January 30th.
Suncoast Foundations awards needs and merit-based scholarships to seniors. Interested students should check the
Suncoast Credit Union website, www.suncoastcreditunion.com for the 2015 applications.
For over fifty years, the Southern Scholarship Foundation has helped thousands of students with outstanding academic abilities, good character and
financial need realize their dream of a college education. Qualified students attending Florida State University, Florida A&M University, the University of
Florida, Tallahassee Community College, Santa Fe College, and Florida Gulf Coast University are awarded scholarships in the form of rent-free

Central Florida Electric is pleased to announce the continuation of its scholarship program designed to offer scholarships to deserving students at high
schools in their service area. The program will offer a one year, $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior. If you are interested, please pick up an
application in the front office. Applications are due to guidance by March 11th.
Ben Roberts Care Center, INC recognizes outstanding high school seniors in the community who are dedicated to further their education and giving back
to their community. The scholarship is a one time $250 payment that will be paid directly to the college or institution of higher education of the successful

deadline to apply for the scholarship is May 1st, 2015.

Scholarship Requirements:
You must write a 2000 minimum word essay describing how your parents continue to work together despite being part of a separated household.
Your essay must describe in detail how your parents overcame obstacles and remained excellent role models.
Selection of Winner: The winning essay shall be selected by a committee of child custody attorneys. The winning essay shall have individual
names removed and then will be published online in a special section of our website showing examples of excellent parenting skills. The
scholarship award will be paid directly to each winner, preferably at their high school awards event.
