GFWC California Federation of Women’s Clubs Call to Winter 2015 Executive Board Meeting February 26, 27 – 28, 2015 “Clear the Tracks for Leadership” LEADS Candidates This February Board meeting focus is on leadership. Especially we look forward to meeting the District LEADS Candidates who are invited to attend this board meeting and take part in the special CFWC leadership training exercises on Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday mornings. Leadership Chairman Pam Ament and her team have prepared a three-part workshop with the goal that these candidates will personally meet the CFWC officers; learn more about Federation to understand the importance the organization; practice leadership skills and techniques to be ready for leadership roles in the future; and share this knowledge within their own club and district. Please see the agenda for times and help your candidate make her meeting reservations. Special Committees Also called to this meeting will be the CFWC Bylaws Committee led by Joyce Opjorden, and the Resolutions Committee led by Elaine Davis. They will each meet Friday and Saturday mornings as shown on the meeting agenda. District Reporting The District Deans will be reporting for their districts at this board meeting. Your topic will be to describe one interesting club project you chose from all the reports submitted to your district. Your talk is scheduled for 3 minutes to explain the who-what-where-when-why-outcome of the activity. Please Bring 4 copies to be given to Sharon Hooper, Corres. Sec.at the time of your presentation. Special Programs on Friday At the Friday business meeting, we are excited to present guest speaker Bill Wittch from volunteerpro.net who will give interactive presentations at lunch and dinner sessions: “Stop recruiting/Start attracting” and “Bridging across Generations…a New Look at Leadership”. And at 3:00 - 4:30 break-out meeting: “Preserving Federation Club History” with Mary Lou Parks, clubwoman, author, women’s history visionary. For those who are not required elsewhere. Program Reports Reminder: All club and district program reports should be mailed to the respective CFWC program chairman before Feb. 15, 2015. Do not bring them to this meeting. Reservations Please make your hotel, transportation and meal reservations as soon as possible to help meeting planner Mary Sprague keep her sanity. All Federation members are invited to attend this board meeting, so encourage your local members to accompany you in this Federation learning experience. Use a separate “Meal Reservation Form” for guest member registration. We are in a fresh new year so forget any mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
