Future Workers of Northwest
Indiana is a program created by one
simple question. “Why do you want
this job? “The applicant’s answer:
“Because my mom is going to throw
me out when I turn 18.” When this
situation was presented to the vice
principal at the applicant’s school,
his reply was: “He is not the only
one.” Future Workers of Northwest
Indiana is a program created to help
young men and women prepare
for the employment searches
ahead of them. We go over how
to write a resume (with or without
work experience), how to dress
appropriately, what not to say in
an interview, the best time to look
for a job and much more. The next
date for our seminar is scheduled
for Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at the
Hammond Public Library, 564 State
St, Hammond, IN 46320. This is a
free opportunity for young men and
women ages 14-18. If you believe
you or someone you may know
could benefit from this program, we
invite you share our information.

One Woman
Comedy Kick-Off
The Towle Theater is
proud to announce the opening
of their 2015 Season with a
one-woman comedy Shirley
Valentine. The show is under
the direction of Managing
Director, Jeff Casey, with
generous support from our 2015
Season Sponsor, Accucraft
Imaging. Suzanne Nyhan of
Naperville, IL will tackle the
role of Shirley in this funny
and poignant story of a middleaged, working class Liverpool
housewife. The story focuses
on her life before and after a
transforming holiday abroad.
Wondering what has happened
to herself now feeling stagnant
and in a rut, Shirley Valentine
finds herself regularly talking
to the wall while preparing her
husband’s chips and egg. When
her best friend wins a tripfor-two to Greece, she packs
her bags, leaves a note on the
cupboard door in the kitchen,
and heads for a fortnight of
rest and relaxation. What she
finds is romance and a new
awareness of who she is and
what her existence can be with
just a little effort on her part.
Towle patrons may
remember Suzanne from their
2011 griping production of
Good Boys and True where she
played the mother of a privileged
prep student who was accused
of rape. Shirley Valentine is
a complete departure from
the previous show for Nyhan.
She is looking forward to the
challenge and is excited to
show audiences her comedic
side. She is a graduate of The
School at Steppenwolf, The
Player’s Workshop of Second
City and Loyola University
School of Law. “With all of
her previous acting experience
February 15, 2015
and life experience, she was the
perfect fit for the role”, explains
Casey. “She brings a warmth
and charisma to Shirley that
will keep audience riveted.”
Performances for Shirley
Valentine are February 27
& 28, March 1, 6-8, 12-15.
Thursdays through Saturdays
the production will begin at
8pm and on Sundays at 2pm.
Tickets are only $17. Every
Friday performance is an
Educator Appreciation Night
with buy-one-get-one free
tickets to all educators with a
school ID. Thursday, March
12th is Industry Night; anyone
who provides proof of their
work in a theater production
will receive a buy-one-getone free ticket. Reservations
required for all promotional
discounts. Children under six
years of age are not permitted
in the theater.
2015 Season Tickets are
still available until the closing
of Shirley Valentine. Don’t
miss out on a single show at the
low price of only $55. That’s
four admissions to all four
shows at $13.75 per ticket.
So order your Season Tickets
today.
