First Aid for Bee Stings. Bee Diseases. Beekeeping Country vs Coastal. Medicinal Properties of Honey. There will be a demonstration on handling live bees and talks about equipment such as steam knives Guest speakers include Joe Horner, Queen bee breeder who raises different races of bees will bring along some bees for a live bee demonstration. Mark Greco a Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society has developed innovative methods for studying insects using non evasive imaging which he terms ‘Diagnostic Radioentomology’. Arthur Garske is a St Johns Ambulance Officer and well qualified to speak about treatment of bee stings. Mal Porter President of Central Tablelands Branch of NSWAA will share his experiences of keeping bees in the country and along the coast. Dave Wilson Secretary ABA of NSW will compare different types of uncapping knives. Dr Lamorna Osborne will talk about the amazing healing properties of honey..
