Responsible: Christian Bessiere (CNRS Research Director), Laboratory of Informatics, Robotics and Microelectronics of Montpellier (LIRMM,) Montpellier, France. PhD Research Project: Sept 2009-Nov 2013 University of Western Macedonia Last update on 11/2/2015 Efficient algorithms for Strong Local Consistencies and Adaptive Techniques in Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSPs): research on the Constraint Programming (CP) area of Artificial Intelligence. Specifically, it focuses on the development of efficient filtering algorithms for strong local consistencies that advance relevant existing propagation methods for binary and non-binary CSPs. Adaptive propagation techniques are also proposed, for the automatic selection of the appropriate propagation algorithm during search. The new algorithms combined with adaptive techniques exploit the filtering power of strong local consistencies in an effective manner in order to further increase the efficacy of CP solvers. Thesis supervisor: Kostas Stergiou (Assoc. Professor), Department of Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece. Other Research Projects: Jan 2007-May 2008 Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Sign2Talk: a multilanguage system for extraction and conversion of gesture information (sign language) to voice and inverse, supporting the communication of Hearing-Impaired People.
