sources, asked IT officials to bolster their efforts and give special
emphasis on tax collections under
the Tax Deducted at Source (TDS)
and Advance Tax categories.
Officials said the growth in
TDS collections is less by 50 per
cent this time as compared to the
last period. In the 2013-14 financial year, the growth under this
head was 16.73 per cent while in
the current fiscal of 2014-15 the
growth percentage is just 7.84 per

workshop on innovative activity with ‘low cost, no cost’
teaching aids, supported by
NCSTC, Govt of India commenced at PG College of
Education, Canal Road here
today.
The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Conservator of
Forests OP Sharma Vidyrathi. It
is being held in collaboration
with J&K Students Welfare
Society Anantnag and is supported by NCSTC Department
of Science and Technology,
Govt of India. Principal of the
College Prof ( Dr) Ajeet Angral
was the guest of honour on the
occasion. Seventy students and
faculty members registered for
participation.
The chief guest lauded the
efforts of the college in providing platform to the staff and
students for strengthening the
teaching -learning process
through low cost teaching aids.

The BJP today claimed that
over 100 corporate leaders and
professionals joined the saffron
party even as its Chief Amit Shah
appealed to the corporate world to
help create more employment
opportunities in the country.
They joined the party in the
presence of Shah and Anurag
Thakur, president, Bhartiya Janata
Yuva Morcha(BJYM).
Shah said that corporate leaders today aren’t joining the party
but a family.
“Over 100 CEOs became
members of the BJP today which
included Perveiz Alamgir Khan
from Lufthansa; Henry Moses,
country head of Qatar Airlines;
Neeta Agarwal of AT&T and
Jagpreet Lamba of AIKON
Group,” a press release issued by

NSUI alleges
delay in release
of scholarship

POONCH, Feb 1: NSUI
leader Naresh Digra today
alleged delay in release of
SC/ST/OBC scholarship for
the students of
Govt
Polytechnic Poonch.
In a statement, he alleged
that the student counterparts in
Jammu have got the scholarship but the same was not
released for the Poonch students. The students of district
Poonch belong to far-flung
areas and can't afford daily up
downs to offices for enquiring
for the delivery of their scholarships, he added.
The NSUI leader also
warned the Social Welfare
Department authorities that if
the scholarships are not
released, the students would
have no option other than to
adopt agitational path.

The Home Ministry has
recently conveyed to the Election
Commission that it has initiated
the process to amend the Code of
Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and a
note has been sent to law officers
to prepare the draft amendment
bill.
“If the draft is prepared on
time, we may introduce the
amendment bill in Parliament
sometime in second half of the
budget session,” a Home Ministry
official said.
