Character Education Information The 2nd grade students/team has decided on a way to display our character trait, COURAGE for the month of February by teaming up with Mrs. Seneri and “Fighting Like Paxton!” Please help by donating the items attached in the letter with this email. There will be a box in the lobby for al donated items. All items need to be donated by Thursday, February 26th in order to send items to UNC and Duke Hospitals Also, we would like to collect “Change for Courage”. This project will begin on Monday, February 2nd and go through Thursday February 26th. This will be a contest amongst all grade levels in the elementary school. The grade level with the most coins will win a grade level HAT DAY! Hawk’s Nest ½ day Camp and Date Night On Friday, February 13th, 2015, Kestrel Heights High School Yearbook will be hosting Hawk's Nest ½ day camp for elementary school students. The price for Hawk's Nest Afterschool will be $10 for each child. The price for the first child will be $10 each additional sibling will be charged $5. The Hawk's Nest Afterschool will be conducted by selected yearbook members and supervising high school teachers from 11:05am until 4pm. The fee for late pickups will be $5 for every 10 minutes after 4pm. Parents are responsible for providing a lunch and snacks for each child. For more information please email Ms. Durrett at durrett@kestrelheights.org or Mr. Johnston at ejohnston@kestrelheights.org On Saturday, February 14, 2015, Kestrel Heights High School Yearbook will be hosting a babysitting service, Hawk's Nest Date Night for elementary school students. Parents will be able to go out and enjoy a night out while we babysit their children. The price for Hawk's Nest Date Night will be $10 for each child. The price for the first child will be $10 each additional sibling will be charged $5. The Hawk's Nest Date Night will be conducted by selected yearbook members and supervising high school teachers from 6pm until 10pm. The fee for late pickups will be $5 for every 10 minutes after 10pm. Parents are responsible for feeding their children before arrival, and providing snacks for each child. Please return your permission forms (same form, we’ll change the date) for both events to Mrs. Hofheinz at the elementary school no later than 8:30am February 13th. Lunch Contacts have changed! https://kestrelheights.schoollunchchoice.com/ The ordering process remains the same and all cancellations must be done on the website prior to 7:00am on a day that you have ordered for your child. In an event of a snow day, the menu will remain the same and will be served on the make-up day so there is no need to reorder. • • • Weekly Orders should be placed by Saturday 5:00 pm the week before. We will not have extra lunches; you must order online. If your child will be absent from school or in case of an emergency, and you wish to cancel your lunch order, you may cancel his/her lunch by 7:00 am the day of on the school lunch choice website and receive credit. After 7:01 am all sales are final. If you know your child is sick, try to cancel the night before. No refunds will be given; credit will be issued for meals cancelled on time. All applications, including siblings of current Kestrel students, are due by Thursday, February 26th. Applications are available on our website or in our front offices. Letters of Intent: The 2015-16 Letters of Intent were sent February 2nd. The forms will also be available on our website. Please indicate whether or not your child intends on returning to KHS for the 2015-16 school year and update your contact information. This will help us prepare the schedules for next year for those students who are returning and prepare the cumulative file for transfer for those who are not returning. The packets are due to the front office no later than Friday, February 20th. Thank you for your assistance as we begin to plan another exciting year at Kestrel Heights School. KHS PTSO NEWS PTSO Board Meeting—February 23rd, 2015 in the elementary school art room. A BTFE sweepstakes is going on all this year (until 12/15/15). The winning school could win One Million box tops, that's $100,000. A BTFE account is required for each email address.
