A Place to Belong……………..A Place to Become…………..A Place to Call Home…….
NEWS & NOTES
SUMMER SERIES TOPICS - What is your favorite scripture? Perhaps John 3:16, Psalms 23, or do you
have a more obscure passage? I had an idea for doing the summer series this year around a series of favorite Bible verses of our members. I am taking your nominations or votes. Simply write your favorite scripture on your attendance card and I’ll count them up and see if we can come up with some great topics for
the summer. I think this will be fun and interesting.
NEW SISTER - Sunday was a great day. We missed a bunch of our family who was up at Camp Deadwood but we were glad to have new members and visitors present. It was great to see Elsie Ezell put on
Christ in Baptism Sunday night.
SAYING GOODBYE – It was sad but it was also sweet saying goodbye to two dear and precious friends
this week. You couldn’t help but love Bob Ezell and Judy Jefferys. They were certainly fun people to be
around and an inspiration in many ways. We will miss them.
YOUTH TRAVELS - Today you may note that some of our youth is gone to YES weekend. These events
aren’t just excuses to get out of town. They are vital ways to grow our youth. The youth get to bond as a
group and with adults. They spend the majority of the time in worship and Bible classes. They also have a
blast. But the goal is their spiritual growth. I am so happy to see our youth growing in number and in
spirit.
I am so happy to see the growth of this church as people are growing in service. Every week you see new
people stepping up to do new things: cooking, visiting, teaching, and helping others. While I am proud to
see them growing I challenge you to find new ways you can serve. Look around for opportunities. Volunteer to help in a ministry. See a deacon or an Elder for ideas of what you can do. Don’t wait to be asked.
Decide to make a difference.
Oh and my favorite verse. It’s a hard choice so let me leave you with a few of mine and I look forward to
hearing yours.
1. My Daily Mantra. Ps 125:1 “This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it.
2. My Prescription for Worry. Ph il 4:6,7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
3. My Confidence. Rom ans 8:31,32 “What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us,
who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he
not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

24 Things to Always Remember. . .
and One Thing to Never Forget
your presence is a present to the world.
You’re unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be.
Take the days just one at a time.
Count your blessings, not your troubles.
You’ll make it through whatever comes along.
Within you are so many answers.
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don’t put limits on yourself.
So many dreams are waiting to be realized.
Decisions are too important to leave to chance.
Reach for your peak, your goal, and your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy than worrying.
The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets.
Don’t take things too seriously.
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember that a little love goes a long way.
Remember that a lot . . . goes forever.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment.
Life’s treasures are people . . . together.
Realize that it’s never too late.
Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way.
Have heath and hope and happiness.
Take the time to wish upon a star.
And don’t ever forget . . .
For even a day . . .
How very special you are.
Come and have supper Wednesday
night with us! Come join us and make
it a time for great fellowshipping before Bible Class
