Festive Wisconsin a state-wide, juried exhibition celebrating Wisconsin Artist Application Instructions Cedarburg Art Museum Exhibition November 11, 2015 – January 17, 2016 Artists working in a variety of media are invited to explore and interpret the diverse ways that festive occasions and events are celebrated in Wisconsin. Parades, food and ethnic festivals, family milestones, and religious and secular holidays, are just some of the celebratory events worthy of interpretation. Accepted Media: Original fine art in the areas of painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, printmaking and ceramics. Framed/finished works are to be no larger than 24” in any dimension. Accepted twodimensional works must be presented framed, ready for gallery hanging with picture wire. Works must be completed in the 12 months preceding the exhibition, undated, and without any previous awards. Art can be for sale during the time of the exhibition. Cedarburg Art Museum retains a 35% commission on works sold. Eligibility: Open to artists 18 years and older who create works of original concept, design, & execution. Juried Show Juror: Arthur Thrall, Professor Emeritus of Art, Lawrence University. Thrall is an American printmaker and painter whose works are in London collections at the Tate Gallery, the British Museum, and the Victoria & Albert Museum as well as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Library of Congress, the Chicago Art Institute, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Milwaukee Art Museum and more. In 2011, Thrall was awarded the Wisconsin Visual Lifetime Achievement Award for his artistic and teaching accomplishments. Arthur Thrall is an active printmaker and painter with a studio in the Riverwest neighborhood of Milwaukee. Awards: Thanks to a sponsorship by Port Washington State Bank, $1,000 in prize money will to be awarded to artists, including a $500 Best of Show Award. Artist Application Checklist Please complete only one application per artist. Deadline: Applications will be accepted only from September 1 through September 30, 2015. Notifications will be sent by email no later than October 10, 2015. Accepted works are to be delivered to the Cedarburg Art Museum on Sunday, October 25 from 12-4 pm or Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 10-4pm. Artwork may be shipped to the CAM with arrival date no later than October 28, 2015. If artist cannot pick up work in January at CAM, works can be shipped back to artist COD. Images should be in proper orientation for viewing (upright on monitor). File name should be in the following format: Last Name_First Name_title_number.jpg. Abbreviate where possible to keep the file name short. Example: Smith_Sally_Untitled_1.jpg. The number given below should correspond to the number on your submitted image.
