(Please go to the ‘Courses’ menu on our website for further information on any of our courses): •Business & Management •Workplace Health & Safety •Project Management •Training & Assessment Background in delivering Diploma of Vocational Education and Training Led by a highly qualified team, our organisation has been delivering nationally recognised qualifications to enterprise trainers and assessors, Vocational Education and Training (VET) practitioners, corporations and government departments. 1 Course information Overview This course has been specifically designed around the core functions typically performed by managers and experienced practitioners in an RTO. It has a strong emphasis on setting up training and assessment systems, procedures and documentation that comply with the Standards for NVR RTOs. This course will further enhance an individual’s training and assessment practices in a manner consistent with the VET Capability Framework. Award Upon successful completion of the course requirements, participants will be awarded: •TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training Who should attend? Suitable for experienced practitioners currently working in the VET sector. Participants should have a role in leading other trainers and assessors as well as managing a significant area within an RTO. Access to a workplace Assessment is designed to occur in a workplace environment in which participants must have access to: •Workplace policies and procedures •Training and assessment systems, including compliance documentation •Training and assessment materials •A work team •Manager to oversee and authenticate their work. Preferred pathways into this qualification Candidates considering this qualification should meet one of the following requirements: •TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and vocational experience in training and assessment roles within an RTO or similar organisation, or •Extensive vocational experience in training and assessment roles within an RTO or similar organisation where the focus has been on competency based training and assessment, or •Another relevant qualification and have vocational experience in training and assessment roles within an RTO or similar organisation 2 Units of competency Review the unit information below to see which units are covered in this course. Packaging rules Total number of units = 10 (6 core units plus 4 elective units) •At least 2 elective units must be selected from the elective units listed in the packaging rules. •The remaining 2 elective units may be selected from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course. Where a unit is chosen from another currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course, it must be from a qualification or course at Diploma level or above. Elective units must be relevant to the work outcome, local industry requirements and the qualification level. This includes students seeking credit transfer for elective units that meet the packaging rules for this qualification and students seeking to undertake alternative units of competency via distance or RPL. ISI will only provide alternative elective units if we have the training and assessment materials to cover the elective and a trainer/assessor with the relevant vocational competency. Unit Information TAE50111 6 core + 4 elective TAEASS501A Provide advanced assessment practice This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to lead assessment processes among a group or team of assessors within an RTO. It also focuses on continuously improving processes used by the assessor and the assessment team. Core TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to design and develop assessment tools, including tools used in formative, summative and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment. Core TAEDEL502A Provide advanced facilitation practice This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to provide high level facilitation practices in a VET context. It also focuses on achieving continuous improvement through reflective practice. Unit Information TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills This unit describes the skills and knowledge a vocational trainer or assessor requires to identify Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skill requirements of training and the work environment, and to use resources and strategies that meet the needs of the learner group. Core TAEPDD501A Maintain and enhance professional practice This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage personal professional performance and to take responsibility for professional development in relation to the provision of training and/or assessment services. Core TAEASS503A Lead assessment validation processes This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to provide leadership in assessment validation processes. Elective TAEDES502A Design and develop learning resources This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to design and develop resources to support the learning process. Elective* TAEDES505A Evaluate a training program This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to evaluate a training program to measure the effectiveness of training in meeting workforce performance needs and capability requirements. Elective* TAETAS501B Undertake organisational Training Needs Analysis (TNA) This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to undertake a TNA to identify the training and assessment needs of an organisation. Elective *No workshop for this unit. 4 TAE50111 6 core + 4 elective Course duration Participants have twelve (12) months to complete the training and assessment requirements of the qualification. This course is delivered using a blended approach of learning. Learners will attend some classroom training, as well as self-paced and assisted distance study. You will have a dedicated “study buddy” assisting you and encouraging you throughout your learning journey. You will also have fully qualified trainer support available during the day via phone, email and Skype. Study optionPrice Blended study option Recognition of Prior Learning $8,000 $8,000 VET FEE-HELP VET FEE-HELP is a loan scheme available to eligible students undertaking Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma qualifications.
