MISSION PRAYER REQUEST Please pray for Sarah Schaff who serves as a
missionary in Vietnam, where she teaches English to university students. Sarah builds
relationships with her students in and out of class. She also works with the rest of LCMS
personnel in Vietnam to support their humanitarian work. Please pray for Sarah as she
lives among and serves the people of Vietnam and also for the Vietnamese people that
they may hear about and experience the love of Christ.

WE WELCOME INTO FELLOWSHIP At a private service on Sunday, March 1,
we baptized Erin Christine Arnold and Jaxon James Arnold, infant son of Bryce
and Erin Arnold in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Erin’s
sponsors were Kenneth and Bonnie Jensen and Jaxon’s sponsors were Joshua
and Amy Minikus. We pray God’s continued blessing upon this family. Welcome
to the SOTV family!
At the 10:30 a.m. service today, we baptize John K.T. Anderson, son of John Anderson and Jackie Sauer in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit. His sponsors are Gary and Julie McFarling. We pray God’s continued
blessing upon this child and his family. Welcome to the SOTV family!
STEWARDSHIP CORNER Many of us can relate to Martha, who, in the process of
doing good things to honor her Lord, found herself too busy to spend time with Him
(Luke 10:38-42). Jesus wasn‘t happy about that. Nor is He pleased when we wear
ourselves out, even if it‘s in service to Him, and too tired for daily devotions and prayer
and sometimes even weekly worship with fellow believers. Jesus Himself, with only three
years to accomplish His mission, took time for rest and relaxation with friends and time
for communion with His Father. He invites us, ―Come to Me all who labor and heavy
aden, and I will give you rest‖ (Matthew 11:28). Take Him up on His offer!
BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES: The first text message was sent in Europe in
1993. A mere 20 years later, the average teenager communicates primarily by
text, spending 1 hour and 35 minutes each day sending or receiving nearly 4,000
texts. No matter what the form of interaction, some core truths still need to be
communicated: Kids still need to know that their parents love them, no matter
what. Wives still need to know that their husbands love them, no matter what.
Husbands still need to know that their wives respect them, no matter what. And
we all need to remember how much God loves us, no matter what. Find a creative
way to communicate these core messages to your family members and friends
this week, possibly even by text! (GLUASDINMW = God loves you and so do I, no
matter what) Lutheran Family Service (515) 251-4900 or (515)-573-3138
LUTHERANS FOR LIFE ―Christians do not permit the lifestyle modeled by the world
to limit their compassion, but rather they imitate Christ, who willingly gave of Himself to
serve others. When the world cries, ‗Inconvenience—not now, that‘s not my job, no, not
for me,‘ imitators of Christ say, ‗Heavenly Father, not my will, but Thine be done.‘‖ Ryan

discuss the dates for the remaining Saturdays in March through April regarding
conflicts with the Easter schedule. Subway sandwiches & snacks available.

$10 per plant. Orders may be turned in to the church office. Deadline to order is Monday, March
30th. Please remember to take your lilies home to enjoy after the last worship service on Easter
Sunday.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: SOTV is currently looking to grow its technology department. Are you familiar
with running a computer? Training is available as we look to grow our volunteers who help with the
presentations we use during our worship services. We can train you for the worship service you already attend
and we‘d like to get enough volunteers where you would serve once a month. Please contact Angie Spann or
James Parrott if you are willing to be used in this wonderful new area of ministry. (GREAT for Jr High and
HS students!)
PRAYER REQUEST PROCEDURE CHANGE We value your prayer requests. In order to keep our
lists up to date, we will only be keeping them in the Intercessory Prayers and Shepherd’s Corner for
two weeks unless you notify us to continue them.
DO YOU PLAY THE PIANO? SOTV has paid openings for individuals who can play hymns and/or songs
for all of our worship services. Flexible scheduling is available. If interested or if you know of someone,
please contact Angie Spann at Angie@sotv-wdm.org or call the church office.
EASTER CANDY NEEDED: Please help ACT with their annual Easter egg hunt by donating candy
and placing it in the box in the narthex. All candy must not contain nuts or peanuts and be able to fit
inside a plastic egg. Thanks for providing a little treat for our little people!!
SERVANTS QUEST is Sunday, June 14, 21 & 28…..look for registration information later this
month. SERVANTS QUEST is for the whole congregation and any friends you invite to come with you.
SERVANTS QUEST - How you can help now? The planning team is investigating service and outreach projects. Do you know someone who needs a home project completed? Maybe we can get
that done! Do you know an organization that we could serve with? Know any people that just
needs some time? Your connection can lead us to being the “light of Jesus” in the world. The team
would love to hear your ideas! Fill the box in the SOTV lobby with your ideas!
BE SURE TO PICK UP YOUR SCRIP CARDS If you are planning to go out for lunch after church, stop
and see us first. We have cards on hand for many area restaurants plus Whole Foods, HyVee, Dahls, Fareway,
Target, Wal-Mart, Family Christian Store, and many others. We can order almost anything and have it within a
week. For more information or to purchase your Gift cards, see Kim Rasler at the Saturday evening service
and Jodi Parrott, Shelli Burmester, or Angie Spann in the narthex area on Sunday mornings or anytime during
the week in the main office. The youth and leaders of ACT thank you for your support!!!
