Harmony Day is about bringing people together to celebrate being Australian. It is a day to understand and commit to the benefits of living in a country that embraces the common values of respect, fairness, participation, acceptance and a fair go for all. It's about educating our children to counter ignorance with the facts of our success as a multicultural nation. To celebrate the day Caddies Creek students are encouraged to wear an orange accessory with their school uniform. Students could wear an orange armband, an orange hat or ribbon. How about orange socks! Please encourage your child to participate and help to make it a successful day. Mrs Moussa Caddies Creek Public School Chronicle Page 3 of 4 P&C News Second Hand Uniform Pool: Thank you to everyone who supported our first fundraising event for 2015. The P & C are pleased to report that over $400 was raised, which will help buy resources for the school. Again thank you to everyone who donated uniforms for the sale and those who purchased. We will hold another in Term 2, so please keep watch for further details. Easter Raffle: With Easter coming up, the P & C are busy organising the annual Easter raffle. The raffle will be drawn at the K-2 Easter Hat Parade. As in previous years we are kindly asking that each family donate one Easter chocolate bunny, large egg or packet of eggs to the raffle. Also, we are in need of any large or medium baskets that you may be able to donate so that we can put our Easter egg prizes together. If you have any baskets that you no longer need they will be greatly appreciated. Any eggs and baskets can be left at the office for collection by the P & C. P&C Executive Sports News State Knockout Cricket - After reaching the Regional Final in last year's competition, the State Knockout Cricket team began its campaign this season with a resounding victory over Metella Road. In batting first, the boys posted a competitive 6/100 off their 25 overs with Jai Bedi (29) top scoring and Nicolas Freedman (18) providing great support. In reply, Metella Road were bowled out for 70 following some pinpoint bowling and sublime fielding! Gursimran Singh (3/8) and Mitchell Wright (2/6) led our bowling attack while Jayesh Kalra showed his talent behind the stumps in a Man of the Match performance! An outstanding start; looking forward to Round#2...
