ABOUT SINGAPORE-NANJING SPECIAL PROJECTS
COOPERATION PANEL (SNCP)
The SNCP is the first-of-its-kind city-level government platform
initiated to deepen and facilitate mutual interest areas between
Singapore and Nanjing. Significant projects supported by the
Panel include the Singapore-Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island
(SNEHTI) and Nanjing Youth Olympics Games (YOG) 2014.
This panel is supported under the Singapore-Jiangsu
Cooperation Council
FACTS & FIGURES
Nanjing – the 2nd largest commercial centre in East China after Shanghai
Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu province in Eastern China. Located in the lower Yangtze River drainage basin and Yangtze River Delta
economic zone, Nanjing has long been one of China's most important cities. Having been the capital city of six different dynasties since
3 A.D., it is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. With a total population of 8.16 million and an urban
population of 6.55 million, Nanjing is the second-largest commercial centre in the East China region after Shanghai.
Strong Bilateral Trade and Investment between Singapore and Nanjing
In 2013, bilateral trade between Singapore and Nanjing reached US$1.4 billion, making Singapore Nanjing’s 9th largest trading
partner. On the investment front, Singapore’s cumulative actual investments into the city amounted to US$2.31 billion with a total of 351
projects as of end 2013. Singapore is Nanjing’s 3rd largest foreign investor in 2013.
ABOUT YOUNG BUSINESS LEADERS ALLIANCE
The Young Business Leaders Alliance (YBLA), is led by SBF and formed together with five other industry organisations, namely,
Business Leaders Alumni Club (BLAC), three respective Young Entrepreneurs Network (YEN) at Singapore Chinese Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (SCCCI), Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI), Singapore Indian Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (SICCI) and a group of 22- individual Young Business Leaders (YBL). It is common platform for Singapore’s
young business leaders to foster relationships, share experience and explore business opportunities with one another.
