As Director of Stress Management Training at the Preventive Medicine Research Institute for twenty years, she worked with Dr. Dean Ornish to document the benefits of dietary change and stress management to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease and cancer. Dr. McLanahan is the author of the book Surgery and its Alternatives: How to Make the Right Choices for Your Health and is the medical consultant for the book Dr. Yoga. Margabandhu Martarano has served as Director of the New Jersey IYI, at the request of Sri Swami Satchidananda, for over 45 years when classes first began and a food co-op opened in Garfield, NJ. Margabandhu is a Senior Certified Integral Yoga Instructor, proficient in all aspects of Yoga, having learned directly from Gurudev in the early years. Professionally, Margabandhu has a BA in Education and is a Certified Massage Therapist, specializing in Acupressure and Reflexology, and a Master Herbalist, having studied with many experts over the years including: Viktoras Kulivinskas, Smoky Santillo and Dr. Ralph Alan Dale. Sharanya Sharon Manner, our Guest Yoga Instructor, is the creator and co-founder of Samadhi Sun yoga school and its charitable foundation affiliate, Ashrams for Autism. Sharon is registered with Yoga Alliance as a Ei RYT 500. With over 35 years of yoga and meditation practice, she is a Certified Beginner and Intermediate Teacher of Asanas and Pranayama: as well as Raja Yoga: the Philosophy & Psychology of Yoga based on the Yoga Sutras of Sri Patanjali, Yoga for the Special Child. and Structural Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda Yoga Therapy with Mukunda Styles.
