The course consists of four half-day lectures on “nuts and bolts” practical clinical oral pathology focusing on oral cancer and other mucosal
disorders commonly seen in the practice of dentistry. This is a very enjoyable course that covers clinical oral pathology in a way you’ve
probably never experienced before! The lectures are presented by two highly experienced clinicians and educators in a casual, relaxed
and enjoyable atmosphere with ample opportunity for audience participation. There will be special clinicopathologic conferences (CPCs) using
high-quality clinical photos of actual cases, enabling participants to practice what they have learned. This course is appropriate for general
dentists, specialists, hygienists and physicians.
Learning Objectives
Health professionals completing this course will feel comfortable in addressing their patients’ concerns about oral cancer. They will know how
to recognize specific oral lesions, formulate a differential diagnosis, know what to do to obtain a definitive diagnosis and know how to treat and
manage these lesions. In addition, they will know the utilitarian value of newer diagnostic aids, how to do a thorough oral exam and understand
the dental risks for patients taking oral bone antiresorptive agents.
