Dear Sunnymead Families,
This packet contains important information regarding this year’s Basket Auction. In an effort to
reduce the amount of paper sent home about this event, this family packet will be the only hard
copy that you will receive. The entire packet is available on the Sunnymead School website under
the HSA home page tab. Please review the contents of this packet carefully and refer any related
questions to the contacts listed below.
The Basket Auction is by far the most important fundraising event for the Sunnymead Home and
School Association. All of the net proceeds from this event are used for the benefit of all the children
attending Sunnymead. Your donations are a very important part of the event and we thank you for
all of your help and assistance in making the 2015 Basket Auction a success.
We are requesting donations be made to grade level baskets, family baskets & spirit baskets.
Optional donations can be made for program advertisements. If you prefer a monetary contribution,
we can purchase items on your behalf.
After reviewing this information, please order your tickets. We want you to come out and enjoy this
fun evening of friends, family, faculty and great prizes. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet
other Sunnymead families. We hope that you go home a winner on Friday night March 20, 2015.

The other form is to pre-order your Basket Auction Tickets and Combo Packages.

Here are a few important details that you should read before you return the attached forms:
All Admission/Ticket orders must be received by March 6, 2015.
Get your group of family/friends/staff together early, we cannot guarantee that you will be
seated together if received too late.
All checks should be made payable to: SUNNYMEAD HSA. There will be a fee for returned
checks of $ 15.00.
No one under 18 years old will be permitted.

Family and Faculty Basket Donations:
Sunnymead Families and Staff Members who donate a basket or basket items earn basket
tickets for the basket auction.
When donating for a basket:
First - think of a theme
Second - collect donations or donate your own items
Third - make arrangements for delivery/pickup of your donation, see below

• All donations received must be NEW and in original store labeled condition.
• When a single family or staff member donates a basket you will receive a ticket
sheet for the total value of EACH basket donated. For example: If you donate 3
baskets, you will receive 3 ticket sheets based on the value of each basket (as
long as the value is greater than $50.00).
• If multiple families/ staff members donate to one basket, the basket value is
divided amongst the families donating and the appropriate ticket sheet/grand
prize tickets will be provided. For example: If 2 families donate one basket for a
value totaling $150.00. The $150.00 is divided by 2 = $75.00. Each family
would receive tickets for baskets in LEVEL 1 OR the families/staff members can
share 1 ticket sheet for baskets in LEVEL 2.
• All donations made are separate from donations made to grade level baskets.
All baskets must have a face value of at least $50 for ticket purposes. The basket
auction program will include the names of ALL that donate either monetarily or
materially to the auction regardless of value.
WE MUST RECEIVE ALL DONATIONS BY FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 2015 FOR LISTING IN
OUR PRINTED PROGRAM.

The 15th Almost Annual Basket Auction will be upon us very soon. We are asking each
family to participate by collecting items according to the theme that has been chosen for
your grade level. The themes are as follows:

HELP WANTED
IN ORDER FOR THE BASKET AUCTION TO SUCCEED WE NEED YOUR HELP.
THE FOLLOWING GIVES A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF OUR SUBCOMMITTEES.
BASKET WRAPPING – Times and dates will vary during March 1-13, 2015.
Location for wrapping is 62 Falcon Rd.
PROGRAM - Computer input of our baskets info as we collect, wrap and set baskets for
our program. Computer knowledge of Excel, Word or Google Drive is required.
SET UP BASKETS – The day of the Auction help to load and unload Baskets for transport,
& help with arranging and displaying of Baskets as they are delivered to the Polish Falcons
Catering Hall 12-2pm.
TICKET SALES – The night of the Auction we need help at the entry for distribution of paid
Admission and Basket Tickets packets, plus sales of same for walk-ins
30 minute assignment 5:30 – 7:30 and during the intermission.
RUNNERS – The night of the Auction, help handing out the baskets to the winners
30 minute assignment during 7:30 – 10:30.
CLEANUP – The night of the Auction after all the fun, we will need to clean the Catering
Hall to broom swept condition.
CALLERS – The night of the Auction, need callers to pull winning tickets and announce
numbers – 30 minute assignment – 7:30-10:30.
50/50 RAFFLE – The night of Auction, we need volunteers sell raffle tickets to our
attendees.

WHAT IS A BASKET AUCTION?
(Also known as a Tricky Tray)
Friday. March 20, 2015
6:00 PM at Polish Falcons Catering Hall
140 Falcon Rd., Hillsborough, NJ
A Basket Auction or Tricky Tray is a fundraising event. Guests buy tickets, preview
items (donated items wrapped into baskets) then place tickets in containers next to
baskets in hopes they win the items contained in the basket. Once the preview ends
and tickets are deposited we start to draw the winners and deliver every prize to the
winners table. That's it! No skill, no bidding... just food, fun and a lot of luck. It’s a
great time enjoyed by adults only ~ your friends, family and Sunnymead staff.
We are proud that Sunnymead School’s Basket Auction has a reputation for being one of
the biggest Basket Auction in our community. One of the reasons for our success year
after year, is the generosity of donations from families, local businesses and corporate
advertisements. The money raised supports events and activities at Sunnymead
School. Through our fundraising efforts, Sunnymead Home and School Association has
been able to purchases such gifts as a new school sign, a public address system, stage
risers, art room kiln, digital cameras for teachers and new computers for Sunnymead
staff, faculty and most importantly our children.

opportunities for volunteering: Tickets Sales, Delivery, Desserts, Cleanup, Program,
Solicitation, Basket Wrapping & Runners, just to name a few. Enclosed you will find a
volunteer signup form. Please consider helping out few hours prior to or on the day of
our event, your help would be greatly appreciated. We rely on your volunteering to make
this event a success.
