BALLOT DRAWS
In addition to the prizes outlined above, random draws will take place on May 8, 2015 at
the offices of Promotivate LP (“Promotivate”) in Toronto, Ontario. To enter the Ballot Draws,
participants can complete the ballot appearing on the reverse of each Ticket by filling in their
first name, last name, telephone number and email address and depositing in the Contest
ballot box located at Customer Service no later than the end of business on April 30, 2015
(the “End Date”). The prizes available to be won in the Ballot Draws are as follows.

RULES & REGULATIONS
INSTANT WIN
Each Ticket contains four (4) perforated break-open windows on the front of the Ticket. To
qualify to win an instant prize in the Contest, customers must break open the four (4) windows
on their Ticket to see if their Ticket reveals three (3) identical symbols depicted horizontally
under the same window. If the three (3) symbols depicted under a single window of the
Ticket are identical, the participant will qualify to win that prize. For example, if a window
is opened to reveal “Bulova, Bulova, Bulova” the participant will qualify to win the Bulova
prize described below.

1. Safeway Lucky Break (the “Contest”) will commence March 20, 2015 and will operate
until the close of business on April 16, 2015 (the “Contest Period”) in all participating
Safeway stores throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and
Northern Ontario. The Contest is open to residents of the above provinces who are over
the age of majority according to the laws of the province in which they reside, subject
to the exceptions set out in Rule 8.
2. No purchase necessary. Customers must have a free AIR MILES® Collector Card in order
to participate in the Contest. Customers will receive one (1) Safeway Lucky Break Game
Ticket (the “Ticket”) every time they shop at a participating Safeway during the Contest
Period, while supplies last. Customers wishing to obtain a Ticket without purchase may
swipe their AIR MILES® Collector Card at the Customer Service Desk. Customers who
are not AIR MILES® Collectors may enroll in the AIR MILES® Reward Program by visiting
airmiles.ca. By enrolling to become an AIR MILES® Collector you agree to be bound by
the terms and conditions of the AIR MILES® Reward Program as amended from time
to time. Limit one (1) Ticket per customer per day during the Contest Period, subject to
bonus Ticket provision in Rule 3.
3. Customers will receive one (1) bonus Ticket for every two (2) weekly Contest participating
products purchased per order during the Contest Period.
4. Approximately 9,001,440 Tickets are available for distribution during the Contest Period,
while supplies of Tickets last. There are two (2) ways to qualify to win a prize in the Contest:

Odds of winning a Ballot Draw prize depend upon the number of eligible entries received.
(Ballot Draws mechanics: after the End Date, Promotivate will receive ten (10) random
ballots from each participating Safeway store and will conduct random draws of the entries
received.) There are 185 participating Safeway stores. The selected entrants will be notified
by telephone and/or email that he/she is a Potential Winner.
†The Nissan Prize is non-transferable and has no cash value. Prize includes destination/freight charges and
applicable taxes. Colour, options package, accessories, and other specifics of the prize will be at the sole
discretion of Nissan Canada Inc. (“NCI”). Manufacturer’s warranty applies to the prize. Nissan Prize may not
be released unless winner first shows proof of having a valid driver’s license in the Province in which he/
she resides and satisfactory insurance. Winner is solely responsible for taxes and expenses which are not
included in the prize description above, including but not limited to: registration and license fees, insurance,
additional accessories and all other costs associated with any upgrade or option packages winner may
request. NCI may, in its sole discretion substitute a model year 2015 vehicle of the same or like model
and style in the event of lack of vehicle availability due to limited production or any other reason. The Prize
Winner is solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein including, without limitation having
or obtaining a valid driver’s license, license plates, registration, insurance, fuel/gas.
5. Promotivate, at its option, may substitute any prize for a prize of equal or greater value.
All prizes are non-transferable, except with the permission of Promotivate, and must be
accepted as awarded with no substitutions (cash or otherwise).
6. Winners of FREE grocery product will receive their prize by presenting their winning Ticket,
along with the grocery product indicated on their Ticket, to the checkstand cashier on their next
visit to Safeway prior to the end of business on the End Date. (Limit one (1) grocery product
per Ticket. Maximum number of FREE grocery product any customer can win in the Contest
is ten (10). Potential winners of Ballot Draw prizes will be contacted by telephone and/or
email within three (3) business days of qualifying as a potential winner, must be eligible in
accordance with these Rules & Regulations and must correctly answer a mathematical skilltesting question and sign a liability/publicity release. If Promotivate, after three (3) attempts
via telephone or email is unable to contact a Potential Winner, the prize will be forfeited
(forfeited prizes may not be awarded). In order to win all other prizes, customers must first
bring the potential winning Ticket(s) to their local Safeway store Customer Service Desk prior
to the End Date, correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and sign a standard
liability/publicity release. Tickets will be forwarded to the Prize Administration Office along
with signed publicity/liability release for official verification after the End Date. All submitted
Tickets become the property of Promotivate and none will be returned. Following verification
of Ticket(s), skill-testing question and signed release, Contest Prizes will be awarded to
confirmed winners. Every confirmed winner will receive his/her prize within eight (8) weeks
after verification. Tickets that are not redeemed for prizes prior to the End Date will result in
prizes not being awarded. Tickets that are not original, have been tampered with, mutilated,
altered, defaced, improperly printed, illegible, forged, irregular in any way, obtained through a
previous Safeway promotion or obtained through unauthorized sources, or do not otherwise
meet Contest requirements are null and void.
7. No correspondence will be entered into except with winners and potential winners.
Promotivate is the sole judge on all matters relating to this Contest and its decisions
shall be final and binding. By participating in the Contest and/or accepting a Safeway
Lucky Break prize, winners agree to the use of their name, city of residence, and/or
photograph and/or video image for marketing and/or promotional purposes, without
compensation. Potential winner names and city of residence may appear online, on
television or in print.
8. Employees of Sobeys West Inc. (the “Company”), Promotivate, their agents, and/or
members of their immediate families residing in the same household are not eligible to
participate in the Contest or win prizes.
9. In the event that the number of Tickets entitled to win prizes, or the number of prizes
awarded via the Ballot Draws is higher than the number of prizes outlined above, due to
an error or to a mechanical, electronic or other defect resulting from printing, computer/
online programming or from another process required to produce or distribute the Tickets
or execute the Ballot Draws, the Company and Promotivate reserve the right to terminate
the Contest, in whole or in part, without prior notification. Upon discovery of such an
error or defect, Tickets will cease to be handed out and all those previously distributed
may be considered null and void. In addition, the Ballot Draws may be withdrawn and
any and all prizes previously awarded may be deemed to be null and void. In such a
case, the Contest Prizes outlined in Rule 4 may not be awarded.
10.The Company, Promotivate and participating product and prize sponsors, their respective
affiliates, agents, officers, directors and employees shall not be responsible for any
event that may force the Contest to cease either temporarily or permanently. Nor shall
they be responsible in any way for the use of or bear any liability whatsoever in any
way attributable to the prizes awarded in this Contest. The Company and Promotivate
reserve the right to modify, suspend or withdraw this Contest at any time without prior
notification. By participating, participants agree that the Company and Promotivate will
not be responsible for any event that may cause the Contest to cease operations either
temporarily or permanently, including but not limited to any printing problem, electronic
network, computer problem or any other technical or human error of any kind that
makes continuation of the Contest not feasible in the sole discretion of Promotivate. In
the event that some or all entries from a participating Safeway store are lost or stolen,
making inclusion of the entries from that particular Safeway store in the Ballot Draws
described above impossible or unfeasible, the Ballot Draws may continue without said
store’s inclusion in the draws. Not responsible for lost or misdirected entries/ballots, or
for entries/ballots not properly forwarded by Safeway stores in time for draws.
11.By participating in the Contest, each participant agrees to abide by and be bound by
these Contest Rules & Regulations.
