Summer Session Courses are online courses. Students who have failed a course in the regular school year may repeat the course online in summer school. Applications are completed through the home school counselor. Students should have a computer and Internet access available to them in order to complete a Summer School course. Registration Dates Registration Course Start Date Final Exam Dates EOC Exam Dates April 27 – June 11 June 16 Aug. 5, 6 Aug. 3, 4 Summer School Fees Fee for students taking a course they have previously failed: One Unit: $125 Payment (accompanied by Payment Card) is by certified check or money order only; NO personal checks or cash accepted. Payment must include “Payment Card” provided by home school counselor and must be mailed by June 11 to: GCVSP M.T. Anderson Support Center 100 Blassingame Road Greenville, SC 29605. There is no late registration or payment and no refunds will be issued after June 26. Refunds must be REQUESTED by calling 355-3196 prior to June 26 (lherd@greenville.k12.sc.us). Due to the shortened time frame, eligible students are strongly encouraged to take only ONE course. The courses are listed below. Courses award ONE unit of credit • Algebra 1 CP, Part A • Algebra 1 (CP or Honors) • Algebra 2 (CP or Honors) • Geometry (CP or Honors) • Probability and Statistics CP • PreCalculus (CP or Honors) • English 1, 2, 3, 4 (CP or Honors) • US History (CP or Honors) • Government (CP or Honors) • Economics (CP or Honors) • Psychology (CP or Honors) • PE 1 • Digital Multimedia • Web Design • Creative Writing The Virtual Program Summer Session courses are online and part of the Greenville County Schools Virtual School Program. The Virtual School program is a year-long program that offers GCS students the opportunity to take online courses both during the regular school year and in the summer. Exams: All students taking courses during Summer Session are required to take exams proctored by GCVSP staff at a specific place, date and time. Details will be emailed to the student by the online teacher. EOC exams: August 3, 4 All other Final Exams: August 5, 6 Drop-in Labs: Drop-In Computer Labs at Eastside High and Hillcrest High are available for students who need secondary access to a computer. The Drop-In Labs will be open and proctored by an adult: 8:00 Am to 1:00 PM Monday through Thursday June 16 – August 6 EXCEPTION: Drop-In labs closed June 29 - July 3. These labs are an option for students who need additional time on the computer. To be successful, students who use the Drop-In labs are strongly encouraged to have access to another computer on the weekends and outside the Drop-In lab times in order to complete all assignments by the deadlines. Transportation is NOT provided to the Drop-In Labs. Summer School is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Drop-In Lab locations may close due to low attendance. Questions: Call 355-3196
