2014 Year in Review
NEWSLETTER FOR FRIENDS OF CAMP SUMMIT
Camp Summit Celebrates Banner Year in 2014
Camp Summit’s 20th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament hosted over
150 people at Bear Creek Golf Club and raised over $100,000.
Camp Summit’s campers had
a great year, but they weren’t
the only ones! Thank you
to all of those who enjoyed
one of Camp Summit’s
many fundraising events and
helped us exceed our goal
ensuring no camper was
turned away due to financial
need.
Camp Summit’s 20th Annual
Benefit Golf Tournament
was a great success! On a
beautiful April day over
150 people came out to
Bear Creek Golf Club and
help us raise over $100,000.
With a delicious lunch from
Chick-Fil-A and drinks
provided by Dr. Pepper
Snapple Group our golfers
enjoyed a round of golf, a
raffle and an auction, as well
as receiving a golf glove
and special Camp Summit
sunglasses, courtesy of
Match.com.
In November we held our
13th Annual Boots and
Bandanas Benefit Dinner
and Auction presented
by Jim and Linda Teague.
Those in attendance enjoyed
music by Shoot Low Sheriff,
delicious Eddie Deen’s BBQ
and a live and silent auction,
and together we raised over
$180,000 for our remarkable
camp.
In addition to our two
signature fundraisers, Camp
Summit also partnered with
Fish City Grill who donated
a portion of their proceeds
for one day to Camp
Summit.

Opening Gates Campaign Update…Paradise is closer than you think!
We’re making great progress
in our work to move Camp
Summit to our newly
acquired 460-acre location
in rural Paradise, Texas.
Both our fundraising efforts
and construction are on
schedule. We’re even closer
to our goal of welcoming
campers to our new location
in early 2016.
than halfway to our goal of
$12.2 million. We’re proud
to announce that we’ve
raised $7.2 million, as of
Dec. 2014.
Thanks to our generous
donors and our hardworking
committee, we are more

The fundraising events throughout 2014 were made possible by dedicated supporters. Chance’s Big Give is thrown by Chance Bryson
and his family (above) in honor of Chance’s birthday with the proceeds benefitting Camp Summit. This past year was a record event
over $17,000 raised to help send campers to camp. Camp Summit’s 13th Annual Boots and Bandanas Benefit Dinner and Auction
raised over $180,000.
Development Update
continued from page 1
Many of you enjoyed a night
out at Dr. Pepper Ballpark
where nearly 200 of Camp
Summit’s campers, staff, and
their families, watched the
Frisco RoughRiders play
the San Antonio Missions
followed by a postgame
fireworks show.
Camp Summit was also
the beneficiary of several
fundraising events from
bingo nights to golf
tournaments and even
birthday parties. Chance
Bryson, Camp Summit
camper, once again
celebrated his birthday
by throwing a bowling
fundraiser for Camp Summit
where he raised over $17,000
so others could enjoy camp.
Epsilon Sigma Alpha
International’s Kappa
Beta chapter invited Camp
Summit to be the beneficiary
Camp Summit
for the third year at their
annual Spaghetti Bingo
Night. Camp Summit, with
the assistance of camper
parent Jennifer Bryson,
was also the beneficiary
of Canyon Creek Country
Club’s 1st Annual Bingo
Night to support the needs
of our campers. We would
also like to thank North
Texas Children’s Charities
for having Camp Summit as
beneficiaries at their spring
golf tournament.
Many friends and families of
Camp Summit also showed
their generosity resulting in
a very successful fundraising
year. A huge thank you goes
to those in the Council of
Ambassadors. With the help
of Council of Ambassadors
President, Julie Turner, the
group raised over $62,000,
topping last year’s record
breaking year. North Texas
Giving Day also saw a huge
increase over 2013, raising
over $78,000.
Finally, Camp Summit
received a great response
from businesses,
organizations and
foundations in 2014.
Whether sponsoring events,
volunteering through their
workplace or fulfilling grant
requests, their support led
to a very successful year and
many happy campers.
Camp Summit would like to
thank all of the individuals,
families, foundations, and
corporate groups who
partnered with Camp
Summit in 2014!
Don’t miss the fun!
Mark your calendars for 2015!

Plus, the new site will give
us room for future camper
programs, community use
and collaborative programs
that support our mission.
Architectural plans are
complete and renovations
have begun.
We’re adapting and updating
the campus for accessibility
and optimal programming
to meet our campers’ needs.
Here are some highlights:
• Remodeled cabins that
will accommodate our 2:1
camper-to-staff ratio, with
bathrooms designed for
maximum accessibility and
convenience;
• Larger dining area! All
campers can congregate and
eat together;
