PLEASE NOTE: 1. Classes will now be held in the Rectory Hall. 2. During Holy Week, the Thursday, April 2nd session will be moved to Tuesday, March 31st. If you have any questions, please contact Pablo at: pablohy@gmail.com. “Go, pick up the pieces lest they be lost.” (Jn 6:12). With these words, John Cardinal O’Connor directed the Sisters of Life to a ministry of reconciliation and reverence for women and men who suffer following the tragedy of abortion. Please join the Sisters of Life for a Day of Prayer and Healing on Saturday, May 30th, 2015. For more information or to register, please call: 845-357-0258 or email: hopeandhealing@sistersoflife.org. When Lazarus died, Martha and Mary must have felt sure they had lost the deepest desires of their heart, and lost them irretrievably. But what the story of the raising of Lazarus shows is that a person can feel sure about such things and still be altogether mistaken. Mary and Martha weren't entirely wrong. Each sister had this much insight into herself: she was right in thinking that she wanted to have her brother, and that she wanted to be loved by Jesus. But the sisters were mistaken about what the fulfillment of their desires would be. They thought they could have the desires of their hearts only if Jesus came to them to heal their brother before he died. Consequently, when Lazarus did die, the sisters thought that they had lost what they wanted most. SHARELIFE ~ WORKING WONDERS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS A parent told us, “We have always tried to expose our deaf children to both communities. As their parents, we have talked to them and tried to answer their questions when they saw someone using sign language and they had basic sign language books. Then one day our oldest son said he would like to learn sign language. We discovered Silent Voice’s Sign Language Summer Camp and enrolled him. We also put our name in for the Family Communication Program because we wanted to support our child. These opportunities increased our awareness of the deaf community and respect for different ways of communication. We enjoyed the experiences”. Last year more than 600 deaf children received support through Silent Voice’s Sign Language Summer Camps. The next ShareLife collection will take place on Sunday April 12th. Please visit: www.sharelife.org WORLD WATER DAY: WATER & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT Sunday, March 22nd is World Water Day, as proclaimed by the United Nations. Water is at the core of sustainable development. Water is: health (clean hands saves lives); water is industry (more water is used to make a car than fill a swimming pool); water is energy (they are inseparable friends); water is food (to make 2 steaks you need 15K litres of water). Please remember St. Brigid’s Parish in your last will and testament. Don’t forget to ask us about PreAuthorized Giving (P.A.G.)!
