Down BT34 3FN IMPORTANT NOTES (please read and keep) The contest is confined to single young ladies, of any nationality, who will be between the ages of st 18 and 25 years on the 1 of August 2015. Each finalist shall be selected with the consent of the Festival committee and notified accordingly. Each finalist shall arrive in Warrenpoint not later than 11am on Wednesday the 12th of August to be booked in to the accommodation (details provided later) and take part in official photographs - All th finalists must leave the accommodation by 12 noon on Monday the 16 (unless prior arrangements have been made). Each finalist shall abide by the wishes of the Festival Committee while in Warrenpoint for the contest. In particular finalists shall: [1] Observe strictly the times of the appointments made by the Festival Committee. There are a few early starts so a general alcohol ban is in force during the entire week. [2] Not engage in any activity likely to bring disrepute to the contest or to the Festival Committee. We would further ask that Maidens shall not use mobiles, portable media devices or smoke while in public and/or on official festival duties. You may of course use your phone for emergency use or urgent family matters. [3] Not pose for photographs or give interviews to the media without the permission of or without a committee member present. (We have our own photographers) family and friends can take photographs and we will try and accommodate this as best as we can in events. [4] Not inconvenience the Committee by bringing boyfriends, friends or relatives with them while on official maidens business. W e will try to accommodate family and friends at as many events as we can but due to events we have to attend in the Newry and Mourne district we have to keep to time and I'm sure you understand this. [5] Each finalist shall take with them an evening dress in which to appear on stage during the selection and crowning, and at least two pairs of flat comfortable walking shoes for use during their stay, (we highly recommend flat shoes for all events) as well as a selection of clothes to suit the Irish climate (it can vary from being very hot to very cold as well as wind and rain) Skirts should be no higher than knee length and jeans are not allowed. [6] Refrain from using any social media sites (Facebook, twitter, Instagram etc.) while on festival business or when in a public area. Private use (for example in your hotel room at night is permitted) Phones must be on silent or off at all events [7] Finalists are reminded that no unauthorized persons are permitted in or near the accommodation provided without good reason. [8] The winning Maiden shall not appear in public as the "Maiden of the Mournes" without consent of the Festival Committee. Further to this sashes may not be worn by any contestant outside of the festival at any time in public without prior permission. [9] The winning Maiden shall make herself available for the 2015 Festival week and also for promotional activities during her year in office, if required. Any breach of the above rules may result in the finalist being disqualified from the contest. The decision to disqualify shall be at the discretion of the Festival Committee. Furthermore, the Festival Committee shall not be held responsible for any injury, damage or loss caused to any finalist's person or property during the festival. Contestants are therefore advised to take out adequate travel insurance.
