SPRING MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
About AAP Artist Membership:
Screenings to become an AAP artist member are held twice yearly - in spring and fall. Dues are $80 per year, and waived
if accepted in the spring. Only current AAP Artist Members have the opportunity to apply for every show AAP offers each
year. In order to apply, you must be an artist age 18 or older working in any medium and you must reside or maintain a
studio within 150 miles of downtown Pittsburgh.
Application Process: Choose one of the two application options
Option 1(For 2 or 3-D Work):

Sunday, April 19th, 2015: Submit actual artwork and application materials at Framehouse & Jask Gallery

in the courtyard of the Icehouse Studios, 100 43 Street, Lawrenceville. There is a small guest parking lot and

o 11:00am – 2:00pm: Drop off 5 actual artworks, attached application form, and $20 screening fee (cash, check
or money order made out to AAP)
• These 5 works should be exhibition ready (framed, or as would be shown in an art museum)
• Your name must be on back of each work or covered with archival tape.
o 2:00 – 4:00pm: Artwork will be juried
o 4:00 – 6:00pm: ALL ARTWORK MUST BE PICKED UP
Option 2 (For Artists Working In Video, Installation, or Large 2 or 3-D Work Over 4 Feet high):
• Friday, April 17th by 5pm: digital documentation of 5 works. $20.00 screening fee, all major credit cards accepted.

All information can only be submitted once. If you need to make corrections please call the office.
After you submit the form you will be directed to a payment page where you will pay the $20 screening
fee.
All major credit cards are accepted and a receipt will be emailed to you.

Upload no more than 15 files - up to 3 images of each work
•
Files must be JPG files, 300 dpi, no larger than 8 inches on longest image side, 3MB max.
•
Images must be appropriately positioned and rotated with no background distraction unless absolutely
unavoidable, as in installation work.
•
Save files with last name, first initial, number, and title ex: Doe_J_1_Title_of_Work.jpg
•
For Video Art: Submit file formats of .mov, .mp4, or m4v. File size below 5MB.
•
File should be cued to start point, indicate viewing time, up to 3 minutes
Jury Process:
An esteemed member of the Pittsburgh Arts community approved by the AAP Board of Directors will blindly and impartially
choose the selections on behalf of AAP. Voting is ‘blind’ (no names – please use archival tape to cover signatures) based
on the following criteria: use of medium, consistency of content, consistency if combining different mediums, and
adherence to application instructions. Results are mailed and should be received about a week after jurying. Please No

Failure to follow instructions may disqualify entrant.
Acceptance Letters: Mailed out within 5 business days upon the completion of the jury process.
