The entrance canopy will also be supported on two concrete circular feature columns. Following a great evening at the Concrete Awards dinner held at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, Cidon were the proud winners of the Certificate of Excellence award for the Glasgow School of Art, Reid Building. Re-use of pre-cut kicker timbers to close off platform gap and prevent materials falling at Seal Sands. Consider potential positive hydrostatic pressures when specifying pump chambers (Edinburgh) Any daywork sheets presented from our subcontractors should only be signed for as received and not agreed, therefore sign and state ‘FRPO’ (For Record Purposes Only). Cidon dayworks must be presented to our client daily, and sent back to the relevant QS weekly. Daywork sheets received from our subcontractors more than 1 week old to be rejected. Always keep a running log of any events by our suppliers which have caused delay and relay them back to the QS / Contracts Manager weekly, e.g. crane wind logs. Continue to ensure original copies of passports and work permits are taken for all foreign workers on first day. Copies must be returned to the office immediately. Summary of the Good Initiatives Curved lifting beam Bespoke lifting beam, consisting of a heavy section universal beam, and base plate widened with the addition of a 500mm wide steel plate. Lifting eyes have been welded to the underside of the plate in order to mirror the radius of the tanks wall reinforcement. This has allowed the walls to be quickly prefabricated on a flatbed, whilst forming it to the final shape of the wall on lifting. Step Ladders When previously faced with the problem of tightening the top bolt on the higher shutters, we adopted to using a stabilised step ladder over the traditional ladder. This lightweight aluminium ladder provides a stable, completely enclosed working platform, yet proved to be flexible enough to be carried along the working platforms. Fuel Bunds The introduction of the IBC storage bund had allowed the safe and contained storage of construction chemicals such as release or curing www.cidon.co.uk https://www.facebook.com/CidonConstruction
