Deadlines for applications
Bachelor's degree study:
 Applicants for 1st degree study in study programme Security and Legal Protection of
Persons and Property – civilians by 31 January, 2015.
 Applicants for 1st degree study in study programme Security and Legal Protection of
Persons and Property – members of the Police Force and other security services
(including the opinion of the senior police officer in charge of the staff) by 31 March,
2015.
 Applicants for 1st degree study in study programme Security and Legal Services in
Public Administration by 31 March, 2015.
Master's degree study:
 Applicants for 2nd degree study by 15 July, 2015.
Postgraduate degree study:
 Applicants for postgraduate study by 31 March, 2015.
Applications for study
The applicants submit the following documents together with their application:
Bachelor's degree study:
 a brief CV,
 an extract from the criminal records not more than 3 months old,
 a verified copy of secondary school-leaving certificate a member of the Police Force
shall submit a verified copy of the certificate of specialised police or security
education/training,
 a recommendation by a senior police officer in charge of the staff included in the
application applies to applicants in service as a member of the Police Force or of
other security services with the exception of the members of Corps of the Prison and
Court Guard), a public administration employee shall submit a confirmation of the
employment by their employer,



civilian applicants for the study programme Security and Legal Protection of Persons
and Property shall submit a medical report on the fitness for university study,
an applicant who passes the school-leaving examination in 2015 shall send a verified
copy of the certificate of the completed year at the secondary school and a verified
copy of the secondary school-leaving certificate to the Student Administration Office
of the Academy by 5 June, 2015, or shall submit them to the admission commission
on the date of the entrance exam. The candidate shall prove the satisfaction of the
admission requirements by submitting a verified copy of the secondary school-leaving
certificate no later than on the date of enrolment.

 Study programme Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property – members
of the Police Force and other security services:
08 June, 2015 – 19 June, 2015 – a knowledge test.
 Study programme Security and Legal Services in Public Administration:
08 June, 2015 – 19 June, 2015 – a knowledge test.

Postgraduate degree study: 06/2015
Information on the content areas of the knowledge test is published on the website of the
Academy. The Academy does not provide admission preparatory courses.
Entrance Exam Requirements
Civilian applicants may apply only for Bachelor’s degree study in the programmes of
Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property, and Security and Legal Services in
Public Administration.
Bachelor’s Degree Programmes
Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property
Based on submitted application, the civilian applicants may be accepted for the full-time
Bachelor’s degree study in the programme of Security and Legal Protection of Persons and
Property if they:
a. have completed their full secondary education (full secondary vocational education),
b. have passed the entrance exam in which they:
 have met the required criteria for physical fitness in the physical tests undertaken
by civilian applicants for the study in the programme of Security and Legal
Protection of Persons and Property,
 have met the required criteria in the psychological examination aimed at
determining the intellectual prerequisites for the study undertaken by civilian
applicants for the study in the programme of Security and Legal Protection of
Persons and Property,
 have achieved the necessary score in the written test on the knowledge of the full
secondary education curriculum,
c. have proved their fitness for the study confirmed by the medical report on the fitness
for the study. The medical report on the fitness for the study is sent by the applicant
together with the application for the study (in such case the medical report on the
application is not necessary). The medical report on the fitness of the applicant for the
study is provided by the General Practitioner with whom the applicant has a contract
on providing general medical care (hereinafter the “reporting doctor”). The reporting
doctor in the medical report on the fitness of the applicant for the study states whether
the applicant is or is not fit for the study while taking into account the
contraindications of the medical fitness of the applicant for the study of the
programme of Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property at the Academy
which are listed in the attachment of the medical report. The expenses for the medical
report on the fitness of the applicant for the study are paid by the applicant to the
reporting doctor. The specimen of the medical report on the fitness of the applicant for
the study are included in an annex to these requirements,
d. have proved their civilian integrity by the extract from the criminal record not more
than 3 months old,
e. have paid the registration fee in the amount of €39, or €49 if they have not submitted
their application in the electronic form as well.
Based on the submitted application, the members of the Police Force may be accepted for the
full-time or part-time Bachelor’s degree study in the programme of Security and Legal
Protection of Persons and Property if they:

have completed police or technical and security education,
have been recommended for the study by their senior officer in charge of the staff,
have been members of the Police Force for at least 5 years,
have passed the entrance exam achieving the necessary score in the written test on the
knowledge of the full secondary education curriculum;
f. have proved their fitness for the study by a medical report included in the application
for the study,
f. have paid the registration fee in the amount of €29 to cover the costs connected with
the provision of the admission procedure, or €39 if the applicants have not submitted
their application in the electronic form as well.
Based on the submitted application, the members of other security services may be accepted
for the part-time Bachelor’s degree study in the programme of Security and Legal
Protection of Persons and Property if they:
a. have completed full secondary education (full secondary vocational education),
b. have been recommended for the study by their senior officer in charge of the staff
(does not apply to the members of the Corps of Prison and Court Guard),
c. have passed the entrance exam achieving the necessary score in the written test on the
knowledge of the full secondary education curriculum;
d. have proved their fitness for the study by a medical report included in the application
for the study,
e. have paid the registration fee in the amount of €29 to cover the costs connected with
the provision of the admission procedure, or €39 if the applicants have not submitted
their application in the electronic form as well.
Security and Legal Services in Public Administration
Based on submitted application, the civilian applicants may be accepted for the full-time
Bachelor’s degree study in the programme of Security and Legal Services in Public
Administration if they:
a. have completed their full secondary education (full secondary vocational education),
b. have achieved the necessary score in the written test on the knowledge of the full
secondary education curriculum,
c. have proved their fitness for the study by a medical report included in the application
for the study,
d. have proved their civilian integrity by the extract from the criminal record not more
than 3 months old,
e. have paid the registration fee in the amount of €29 to cover the costs connected with
the provision of the admission procedure, or €39 if the applicants have not submitted
their application in the electronic form as well.
Based on submitted application, employees of public administration may be accepted for the
part-time Bachelor’s degree study in the programme of Security and Legal Services in
Public Administration if they:
a. have completed their full secondary education (full secondary vocational education),
b. have achieved the necessary score in the written test on the knowledge of the full
secondary education curriculum,
c. have submitted a confirmation by their employer of their working position in public
administration,
d. have proved their fitness for the study by a medical report included in the application
for the study,
e. have proved their civilian integrity by the extract from the criminal record not more
than 3 months old,
f. have paid the registration fee in the amount of €29 to cover the costs connected with
the provision of the admission procedure, or €39 if the applicants have not submitted
their application in the electronic form as well.
MASTER’S DEGREE (Mgr.)
Based on the submitted application, the applicants may be accepted to study for Master’s
degree in the Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property programme and Security
and Legal Services in Public Administration programme if they:
a. have a Bachelor’s degree in the Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property
study programme of Protection of Persons and Property study specialization or they
have Bachelor’s degree in the Security and Legal Services in Public Administration
study programme,
b. have achieved the best evaluated weighted study average for the whole Bachelor’s
study programme,
c. have paid €9 fee to cover the costs connected with the provision of the admission
procedure, or €19 fee in case the applicants have not submitted the application in
electronic form as well.
POSTGRADUATE DEGREE (PhD.)
Based on the submitted application, the applicants may be accepted to study for postgraduate
degree in the Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property programme if they:
a. have a Master’s degree in the Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property
study programme, in Security Services study specialization, or similar study
specialization,
b. have been recommended for the study by their senior officer in charge of the staff
(applies to the applicants who are members of the Police Force or members of other
security services),
c. have met the requirements for being accepted to the Police Force (applies to the
applicants of full-time postgraduate PhD. degree study who are not members of the
Police Force ),
d. have successfully passed the entrance exam,
e. have paid €29 registration fee to cover the costs connected with the provision of the
admission procedure, or €39 registration fee in case the applicants have not submitted
the application in electronic form as well.

Accommodation and Catering Services at the
Academy
Students are offered accommodation, which is limited by the capacity of the halls of residence
of the Academy. Meals are served in the canteen of the Academy. Fees for accommodation
and meals are stipulated in specific regulations of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak
Republic. The information concerning the tuition fee will be available on the website of the
Academy.
Important Information for Applicants
Civilian applicant applying for the study in both Bachelor’s study programmes – Security and
Legal Protection of Persons and Property, and Security and Legal Services in Public
Administration, submit an application for each study programme. Electronic application shall
also be submitted.
Applicants who are members of the Police Force and other security services submit their
application for study at the Academy to a competent human resources department. The
applicants use the Application Forms for university study in the Slovak Republic with
appropriate attachments and they submit the application in electronic form as well.
Civilian applicants and employees of the public administration use the Application Forms for
university study in the Slovak Republic and they submit the application in electronic form as
well.
Tuition Fee for 2015/2016
Full-time Bachelor/ Master’s study program:
Students of the Academy, who have no serious reason to study longer than the standard
period are obliged to pay the Academy the annual tuition fee for each extra year. Tuition fee
for academic year 2015/16 is €370.
Part-time Bachelor/ Master’s study program:
Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property - €330
Security and Legal Services in Public Administration - €330.
Postgraduate study programme:
Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property - €330.
(The annual tuition fee for academic year 2015/16, particularly for the dissertation exam year
of doctoral study, is € 370, and €800 for the dissertation defence.)
