Division 09 Finishes Stucco Texture Finish AMX 780 T Product # AMX 780 2. Agitate material as necessary within its working time to maintain workability. 1. PRODUCT NAME Amerimix Stucco Texture Finish AMX 780 T 2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Amerimix AMX 780 T Stucco Texture Finish is a decorative, water resistant, portland cement top coat for one, two or three coat stucco systems. AMX 780 T is factory blended to provide excellent workability and a variety of textured finishes, that can be painted with coatings designed for high pH surfaces. FEATURES AND BENEFITS • Durable • Factory mixed for consistent textures • Superior workability USES AMX 780 T Stucco Texture Finish may be applied over masonry bases, one coat stucco or conventional stucco surfaces. When used as the third coat in a conventional stucco system AMX 780 T is an integral component of a number of fire-rated assemblies. AMX 780 T Textured Stucco Finish is designed to be painted. The application of any paint coating to AMX 780 T must comply with the paint manufacturers published instructions for painting cement plaster. (Some portland cement surfaces may require the use of a bonder to adhere AMX 780 T) PACKAGING Available in 80 lb (36.3 kg) and 3,000 lb (1,361 kg) bulk bags for use in Amermix silo delivery systems. COVERAGE Per 80 lb (36.3) kg bag: Spread & texture over portland cement brown coat - 68 sq ft / 6.8 m2. Texture only over portland cement brown coat – 110 sq ft / 10.2 m2. LIMITATIONS 1. The optimal temperature range for stucco application is between 400F (40C) and 900F (320C). Application outside of this range is possible when appropriate precautions for cold or hot weather construction are implemented in compliance with ACI, PCA, ASTM, IMIAC or Masonry Institute standards. 3. Do not add materials other than clean potable water. Water with a high mineral salt content can cause efflorescence. Efflorescence occurs naturally with portland cement based products and is beyond the control of Amerimix. 4. Avoid adding excessive amounts of water that promote segregation, loss of strength and loss of durability. 5. Always prepare a test panel reflecting jobsite conditions. 6. Shelf life not to exceed one year from date of manufacture. 7. Do not install if rain is expected within 24 hours and the walls cannot be protected. NOTE: Amerimix AMX 780 T Stucco Texture Finish should be installed in accordance with the provisions of applicable ASTM standards and the local building code. Always follow industry best practices appropriate for the application and weather conditions. Good workmanship in conjunction with proper design and detailing assures durable, efficient, watertight construction. SAFETY READ THE SAFETY DATA SHEET (SDS) BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT. AVAILABILITY 6. TECHNICAL SUPPORT For technical assistance please contact us Toll Free: 800-334-0784 MIXING 1. Use of a mechanical mixer will help ensure a uniform mix. 2. Using clean potable water, add approximately 2 gal ( 7.6 L) per 80 lb (36.3 kg) bag. 3. Mix only quantities that can be applied within one hour. 4. With the mixer running, add bags of dry stucco and mix thoroughly. Add additional water in small amounts as necessary to achieve optimum consistency and workability. 5. Mix for a minimum of 5 minutes adding enough of the remaining water to achieve a workable consistency. Caution: Adding too much water will reduce strength. 6. Let mix stand for 2 minutes to enable absorption of water and re mix. Water and mix time must be kept consistent between batches. 7. Wash out mixer periodically to keep material from caking. DO NOT RETEMPER. Re-tempering may reduce bond and compressive strength. Addition of cold water at high temperatures or warm water at low temperatures will aid in adjusting the set time. JOB MOCK UPS Amerimix requires that when Amerimix AMX 780 T Stucco Texture Finish is used in any application or as part of any system that includes other manufacturers’ products, the contractor and/or design professional shall test all the system components collectively for compatibility, performance and long-term intended use in accordance with pertinent and accepted industry standards prior to any construction. Written documentation of the test performed shall be satisfactory to the design professional and contractor. Test results must include the means and methods of application, products used, project-specific conditions being addressed, and standardized tests performed for each proposed system or variation. Approved mock ups or sample panels should be retained until completion of the project and should reflect the jobsite conditions. STORAGE Store in dry area off the ground and keep protected from the elements. CURING • Under conditions of high temperature [above 80 0F (270C)], low humidity and wind, loss of surface water occurs quickly. • Fog spray as needed, depending upon conditions. • Protect from rain and freezing for 24 hours.
