CONCEPT PRESENTATION
"Antibes Celebrates Yachting! "Is an event that came about 'at the last minute' by the Antibes
professionals of the Yachting industry, at the request and in partnership with the Port Vauban and
the City of Antibes.
Antibes Celebrates Yachting is not a show but aims to be a festival dedicated to the yachting industry
in general, the Captains and crews.
The yachting history and the history of the port of Antibes have been closely linked for nearly 50
years. Facing the loss of another event in the yachting calendar, it's the opportunityfor the city of
Antibes and its professionals to honour their industry and to welcome the international yachting.
Antibes Celebrates Yachting is a professional meeting organized around four major themes:




A meeting between professionals and captains on a speed dating concept
An employment and services forum for crews
Useful and interactive seminars for captains and professionals
A permanent friendship opened to the yachting industry in communion with the city and
the citizens Antibes
Antibes Celebrates Yachting is the opportunity for the Port Vauban and the City of Antibes to express
their commitment to the business and crews in yachting and to present its new vision for the future
of the Port.
Antibes Celebrates Yachting is a new concept that will bring together captains, crews and
professional yachting at a perfect date.
Antibes Celebrates Yachting truly launches the season, before the Genoa and Palma Shows allowing
everyone to optimize its movements, contacts and needs.
Antibes Celebrates Yachting is organized by ASAP (Association for the Support of development and
activities of the Port of Antibes), a non-profit association founded in 2012 by the yachting
professionals in Antibes to support and contribute to the planning and development of the port of
Antibes.

2. WHY ANTIBES CELEBRATES YACHTING?
ACY is not an event planned in advance but a real last minute challenge faced by the ASAP at the
request of the Port and the City of Antibes.
On the occasion of the ASAP's General Assembly on February 5th, the announcement made by M.
Pauget regarding the failure of the Antibes Yacht Show's organizer and therefore its cancellation
created a spontaneous movement of dissatisfaction and reactions in the professional world of
Yachting Antibes.
For the last 2 years, the decline of the Antibes Yacht Show was well known. The organization of
the 2015 edition was hypothetical, since very few companies were contacted and no
communication had been made on the potential realisation of this exhibition.
However the absence of Antibes in international yachting calendar has emerged as unacceptable
to the Industry.
It would have been easy to do nothing considering the remaining time to the scheduled dates and
lack of structure and budgets to organise anything.
However, in a few days, ASAP designed a realistic and potentially feasible event concept that can
compensate for the situation. More focused on professional, lighter in terms of structure and
organization, more user friendly and more attractive for crews. Validated by the harbor and city
on February 9th, the last remaining question was whether this concept was reliable logistically
and financially.
The immediate and spontaneous response and mobilization of many players in the industry,
companies of all sizes and from all backgrounds (yacht managements, crew management, marine
electricity, supply, freight, etc ...) made it possible to confirm holding the event on February 26th.
Originally planned without the presence of Yachts, the support of the major broker's association
(MYBA) and the one of the IYCA quickly allowed to add a "Yacht" component to the event, which
will now host boats. Spontaneous initiatives and supports from all sides and almost every day
promise unexpected and unthinkable animations and conviviality which would have been still
unconsidered a few weeks ago.
Seminars, workshops crews safety demonstration, “petanque” competition dedicated to
Captains, professional exchanges, interaction with shopkeepers and Antibes city ...
No doubt, on April 24th and 25th,
Antibes will celebrate yachting!

3. PARTNERS AND PARTICIPANTS
Any participant or partner pays a fee from € 1,000 to € 6.000 depending on their size, wish
and exposure.
Some partners or companies also took over some of the expenses in order to show their
support for this event.
All responded with exceptional responsiveness and enthusiasm thus demonstrating the
commitment of the yachting industry in the port and the city of Antibes and the dynamism of
this industry. They also proposed additional activities, to sponsor certain events and even help
in the organization:
The city of Antibes Juan les Pins, the Port Vauban, the IYCA (International Yacht Club
d'Antibes - Quay Camille Rayon) were the first to show their support and provide technical
and logistical assistance allowing the realisation and implementation of the event confirming
with this process their new and future vision for the Port.

4.THE MEETING AREAS
The village in the Bastion St Jaume was designed to make it user friendly and open.
The yachting sectors are complementary but very different from each other, Antibes Celebrates
Yachting represents these sectors while integrating them into a single event.
1. The Welcoming Bar
The first tent will be the bar. There are no scheduled eatery, thus giving the opportunity for
Antibes restaurants and snack owner to offer a special "if they want" to participants of the event
(already 40 restaurants, bars and shops will do).
This tent will also house various provisioning companies present on the Mediterranean region.
They stand out one from another because of their different specialties (wine vintage wines,
delicatessen, fresh ...) and their availability (place and time of delivery, specialization in
geographic areas etc ..). This is an opportunity for owners, captains, hostesses, managers and
other decision makers to explore and discover new suppliers.
2. The Crew area
The Crew tent will host the companies dedicated to crew training, investment companies or crew
management or more specific services such as insurance and retirement insurance for crew ...
They are experts in their areas of activity, some of them with branches in other ports. Because
the event is taking place early in the season, for crew members it will be the right time to find the
job or the training that will allow them access to another position.
This will also be the opportunity for owners and masters to finalise their crew before starting the
summer.
