Office Assistant - Part Time (Aquarium of the Bay)
bay.org, an equal opportunity, nonprofit employer*, is seeking an Office Assistant to join our team. bay.org is a new
umbrella 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization - encompassing Aquarium of the Bay, The Bay Institute, EcoCenter, Bay Model
Alliance and Sea Lion Center - that is launching publicly in 2015. During project development, all divisions are continuing
to carry out our shared mission: To protect, restore and inspire conservation of San Francisco Bay and its
watershed, from the Sierra to the sea.
This position involves a variety of duties, with the primary focus on administrative duties. This position reports to the
Executive Assistant.

Provide general administrative support for the Administrator of the Executive Office and acts as back up
Supports Director level staff with assigned tasks
General administrative support for President and CEO and Directors as needed
Assist with special projects and tasks including data entry, research, mailings and mail merge
Some scheduling assistance using Microsoft Outlook and Google calendars
Maintain conference room cleanliness
Ordering office supplies for departments
Other duties as necessary

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Work history should include experience in customer service and in an administrative office
• Proficient with Microsoft Programs: Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
• Positive attitude, dependable, ability to handle confidential information in a professional matter
• Must be able to handle multiple task and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to carry and lift 25lbs
HOURS & COMPENSATION
• 20-25 hours per week / non-exempt positionMonday through Friday, hours varying between 8:00AM-6:00PM
• Hourly salary depending on experience
• bay.org’s Administrative Offices are located inside the Aquarium of the Bay on PIER 39 with additional offices
located in Pier 35- this position functions out of both offices
