X-STREET UGANDA BASKETBALL ACADEMY PO.BOX 720 JINJA UGANDA www.xstreetugandaorg.webs.com Report on the International Day of sport and development for peace 2015 celebrations at X-SUBA Who we are; We are a registered nonprofit community based organization based in Uganda whose mission is to use the power sport and Play to empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict and disease in disadvantaged communities of Uganda. We are proud to be part of the movement that believes in using sport as a tool for development and reconciliation. It was our first time to take part in the celebrations. We are glad and happy that when we introduced the subject to our young people, there were very excited about it. We have since been following social media updates on what the day is about and we picked interest. Thanks to The International Platform for sport and development for the constant updates on the day. Thank you for the Page on the day. It has been a good guide for our activities following what other organizations in the field of sport are doing. Our Activities and Involvement; 1. Video contest reflecting on the use of sport for development and reconciliation. We participated. 2. We participated in the IDSDP poster contest. Some samples. 3.
