ASSIGNMENT AS HEAD FEMALE COACH - 2015 YOUTH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, LIMA, PERU 6th –
12th April, 2015
To be eligible for selection by the AWF for the above assignment applicants must:

Hold an AWF State Coach License or above or equivalent.
Must be female.
Must have signed AWF Coaches Code of Ethics.
Must have a satisfactory Peer assessment rating from previous assignment.
Must consent to a Criminal History check if required.
Must hold a current First Aid certificate.
Must have completed Play by The Rules on-line education and possess a current certificate.
Must have completed on-line ASADA Pure Performance education and possess a current
certificate.
Applicants must also have met a minimum of two of the following requirements:

Previous Assistant Coach at Junior or Senior level.
Previous Head or Assistant Coach with Youth international team.
Previous Head Coach of State team to AWF National Junior Champs or above.
Must currently or previously have coached at least two athletes to Youth or Junior National
Team selection.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ATHLETE SUPPORT PERSONNEL
In deciding whether a person is suitable for appointment as an athlete support person with the AWF,
the Federation must take the following into consideration:
1. Whether the person has been convicted of a criminal offence in the last 10 years. Serious
criminal offences, such as those involving trafficking of drugs, acts occasioning physical bodily
harm, offences against children, and offences involving periods of incarceration, must
automatically disqualify an applicant.
2. Whether any other issues are identified in a police national name check which cast doubt on
the suitability of the person for appointment to the AWF. The applicant must consent to the
AWF conducting the police national name check.
3. Whether the person has had an anti-doping rule violation within the past eight years. Serious
violations, including those where the sanction applied was at least two years, must
automatically disqualify an applicant.
4. Whether the applicant is currently under investigation by ASADA for an anti-doping rule
violation. The fact that an applicant is under investigation shall not automatically disqualify the
applicant.
AWF TEAM OFFICIALS AGREEMENT
Purpose
The agreement details the duties and obligations of each appointed team official and clearly shows the
relationship among assigned Head Coach, Manager and Assistant Coaches.
Team Head Coach, Assistant Coaches and Team Manager are to:
• demonstrate a personal commitment to the long-term development of the AWF
• abide by all current policies determined by the AWF
• be prepared to travel with AWF Team members under the same conditions and assume a leadership
role at rendezvous and arrival points
• be punctual, attend all meetings and actively participate in them
• wear assigned team uniform throughout the event
• take active responsibility for achieving the team mission and goals
• work continuously to build effective teamwork and communication
• share responsibility for all team decisions
• share knowledge and expertise among each other
• participate in training sessions, ceremonies and any other functions
• deal with any issue or problem that may arise or has developed that has the potential to interfere with
individual or team outcomes being met.
Team Head Coach
• together with the Manager represent the team at verification of final entries meeting
• after consultation with personal coaches, assigned Assistant Coaches and lifters establish lifters
competition starting weights
• ensure team unity, discipline and morale and that the team represents the AWF in a professional
manner
• facilitate whatever assistance is necessary to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the lifters
• keep the Manager briefed and updated on any issue or problem that may arise or has developed with
the assigned team coaches.

The Australian Weightlifting Federation conducts its business in accordance with best practice and

being returned without appraisal.
