BCP Gives to Make a Wish
Fourth Grade Authors
BCP families and the Belle Chasse community
came together to raise over $15,000 to help make
wishes come true through the Make A Wish Foundation. Throughout the month of February students
made donations by purchasing paper wishing stars,
items from our Make A Wish store, and this year’s
specially designed t-shirt. The generosity of our students was celebrated at the Make A Wish ceremony. Students who purchased a Make A Wish t-shirt
this year may continue to wear them on Fridays of
March and April. Thank you for your continued support and for making wishes come true!
Each fourth grader wrote and illustrated their
own books that were published into hardbacks. The students celebrated their writing at
a “publishing party” where they shared their
books with families and friends.
Adopt a School Volunteer Program
Belle Chasse Primary has been adopted by
the 377th Theatre Sustainment Command.
Army soldiers will volunteer for different activities throughout the school year to help
increase public awareness of the Army’s mission and to nurture the intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth of children in
the area. Army soldiers already visited the
campus and danced the afternoon away
with students at the Bella Bash last week. Soldiers are also scheduled to be at the Louisiana Festival in May giving students an opportunity explore a military vehicle and to try
on gear. We are very excited about this new
partnership and look forward to having soldiers volunteer at our school.
Mrs. Ritz and Colonel
Nesmith, the 377th Battalion Commander, signed the
agreement on March 16
making our partnership
official.

Army Helps Make an Extra Special Bella Bash
Students who earned yellow Bella Bands during the third quarter received special treats last week
as a reward for making good choices and following what Bella says, “BE SAFE, BE RESPECTFUL,
and BE RESPONSIBLE.” Students who earned one yellow band received a nacho snack. Students
who earned two bands had a blast dancing with Army soldiers from the 377th Theater Sustainment Command.
Super Teachers, Super Students!
BCP’s super third and fourth
grade students participated in
a PARCC PEP RALLY last week
to celebrate their hard work
and readiness for state testing!

Golf Balls are now on sale for Bella’s Ball
