According to this article (http://www.napigazdasag.hu/cikk/38904/), Siemens would like to
participate in the Paks II project - it was stated by Viktor Verle, head of energy division of
Siemens Hungary.
Mr. Verle said, that although Siemens has quit nuclear technology, it is still able to deliver
equipments for nuclear power plants. In the case if Paks II, it could mean the manufacture of
turbines, which partly could happen in Hungary. He said that in Hungary they produce parts
of turbines, in many cases for nuclear power plants.
He added, that Siemens could deliver I&C (conventional), tranformators, other electric
equipments, building technologies, fire alarm and fire protection systems etc.
Merkel, Siemens and Olban: the original source of the information is the article below. It is
also talking about the possibility of a BMW factory to be built in Hungary, and that the
Daimler-Mercedes will possibly extend its existing factory with an entire new one. Both
companies has confuted since the claims. The article also claims that new helicopters will be
bought from the Airbus Helicopters for the Hungarian Army and police.

János Lázár, the minisiter leading the prime ministers office said today in the state radio on
the case (among that the visit of the chancellor was a great success for Hungary and other
blahblahblah) something like that "there are great experiences in Germany around
constructing and operating nuclear power plants, so the involvement of these [experiences, I
guess] should be evaluated."
Here is the summary on the webpage of the government:

AREVA Erlangen has taken over the nuclear sector of Siemens
EIA will be held in the case of Paks II. Germany participated in the scoping phase of the EIA
in 2012, so Germany must be notified.
HR, CZ, DE, GR, MT, RO, SK, SI, UA: Hungary started main part EIA for new Paks nuclear
power station
Hungary has notified Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Malta,
Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine of the transboundary EIA, main part. The procedure
will start in these countries in the coming weeks. Of course, people from other countries can
also participate (under the Aarhus Convention), but directly in the Hungarian procedure.
Austria will at least organise a public hearing in Vienna, but citizens / NGOs in the other
notified countries can also demand their authorities to request such a public hearing.
