DOWNTOWN PARKING LOT PERMIT ZONES

The Town of Bloomsburg sweeps
the streets in town during the
weeks listed below. Be sure to find
the date and time on your block.
There are 2 signs on every block.
Failure to move your car during
street sweeping will result in a
$20.00 fine.
Town Parking Permits are available for persons living or
working in the downtown area.
(Ridge Avenue to 3rd Street from West Street to East Street)

Downtown Residents must show proof of residency and
have their vehicle registration & ID at time of purchase.
Students must be present to get their permits. (Only a parent
can obtain a permit for their son/daughter if the student cannot
be present). Only one permit is issued per person.
May 11-15
Employees working in the downtown area must bring in their
vehicle registration & ID.

Downtown Parking permits are sold as ZONES.
They will be sold first come/first served basis
You will only be allowed to park in the zone purchased.
The permit is valid for 6 months. (Jan-June and July-Dec)
Permit zones are strictly enforced.
Fine for No Permit in permit zone is $40.00.
Permits are priced according to Zones.
Areas in the lots are clearly marked with signs.
Do not park in the coin-metered areas of the lots.
Current permit holders can come in 4 business days before
they go on sale to new permit holders. New permit holders
can purchase them the first business day in July & first Monday in December. Check bloompd.com for sale dates.

Residential Permit Parking
Residential Permits are required in the densely
populated areas in town, particularly near
Bloomsburg University. There are 2 signs on
every block where these permits are required.
Residential Permits
are enforced all year long
from
7AM to 7PM
Monday through Friday
Exceptions are:
First, Fair and Pine Streets :
24 hours, 7 days a week
and
East & West 5th Street
(between East and Market Streets)
7PM to 7 AM
Permits are issued annually at the
police department in August.
Number of Permits issued per housing unit:
2 Vehicle Permits ($10.00 each)
1 Visitor pass
($20.00 each)
1. Vehicle Registration & Proof of
Residency are required. (A signed copy of
lease or current utility bill with your name &
town address.)
2. Permits must be hanging and clearly
visible from your rear-view mirror.
3. Vehicles MUST be moved for the street
sweeping days on your block.

4. Permits are not transferable.
5. Lost Permit Replacement fee: $35.00.
6. Ticket Fines for NO PERMIT : $40.00.
Parking Ticket Procedures
1. Clerks can not excuse parking tickets.
2. If you have a concern you must talk to the
officer that gave you the ticket. The badge
number is on the front of your ticket on the
middle line.

3. Parking Officers are available to discuss
tickets on the following days and times:
Badge 595: Monday - Thursday between 2:30-3:00 PM
Badge 598: Monday - Friday 3:30 - 4:00 PM
4. Officers do not take phone calls about
parking tickets.
5. Tickets are to be paid within 10 days from
the date of issue. Failure to do so will
result in additional costs.
6. After 20 days from the date of issue the
ticket will go into a citation at District
Magistrate Lawton’s office. (570) 784-1868.
7. Once the ticket has gone into a
citation you can take a hearing.

SNOW REMOVAL IN PARKING LOTS
After a significant snowfall, or an
accumulation of several smaller storms a
schedule of snow removal will be posted
on our website: bloompd.com, our
Facebook and Twitter pages, Bloomsburg
University's Today Page, local radio
stations (930 AM, 106.5 FM) & The Press
Enterprise.
If it is NOT on the website there is
no snow removal planned yet.
Information designates dates and times of
snow removal for each lot & alternative
places to park. Vehicles not moved from
the lots prior to plowing are subject to a
$50.00 fine and towing at the owner’s expense.
