NEWSY NOTES MARCH 2015! HAPPY
Joyce S. Mills Travel Designer 1031 Second Street Blue Ridge, VA 24064 NEWSY NOTES JUNE 2015! Welcome to June! Everything is in bloom and gardening has begun for many of you. Blue Ridge Travel has also been “planting seeds” this year. We have already traveled to the Caribbean, visited Thomas Jefferson’s Home, Monticello, stopped by to say “Hi” to the Waltons on Walton’s Mountain, did the Virginia Reel at Michie’s Tavern, and spent a wonderful day at Wohlfahrt Haus in Wytheville, VA. And that, my friends, is only the beginning for 2015! New travel for 2016 has already been created and as you continue to read June’s edition of Newsy Notes, I hope it will spark that desire in you to join us as we prepare to present to you some fabulous journeys for the second half of 2015 and 2016! ************************************************************************************************************************ SPRINGTIME IN LANCASTER JUNE 9-11, 2014 $395 Per Person (Based on Double Occupancy) It’s almost here! For the past couple of years, we have taken a Fall journey to Lancaster, PA to see Sight and Sound’s breathtaking productions of stories taken from the Bible such as Noah and Moses. Several of you have asked if we could consider taking this journey at a different time of the year so this year we will make our way to Lancaster in June. This gives us a great opportunity to see this beautiful part of our country in the Spring and to make our visit a little more interesting, we will be staying onboard a lovely steamboat that has been converted into a beautiful Inn. If you enjoy historical covered bridges, the Lancaster area is just where you will want to be as we have planned a wonderful tour to see several of these bridges. Your package includes: roundtrip transportation from Roanoke, VA, admission to Sight and Sound’s morning production of “Joseph”, 2-nights’ accommodations with breakfast, 2 dinners, and a tour of the Amish country and its covered bridges. Amish buggy rides are available upon request. For those of you who are seasoned shoppers, there will also be time to get in some valuable shopping! If you think you have waited too late to reserve your space for this amazing travel, give me a call now at 540-977-0505 and I will do my best to get you onboard with us. ********************************************************************************************************************************* 1 BLUE RIDGE TRAVEL INVITES YOU TO EXPLORE 2015 WITH US SPRINGTIME IN LANCASTER: SIGHT AND SOUND’S “JOSEPH”, AMISH COUNTRY AND COVERED BRIDGES TOUR ~ 2-NIGHTS LODGING ~ 4 MEALS TUESDAY – THURSDAY, JUNE 9-11, 2015 ~ COST: $395/PP* * BARTER THEATRE: “SOUTHERN FRIED NUPTIALS” SATURDAY, JUNE 20, 2015 ~ COST: $85/PP * CHARLES TOWN, WV: HOLLYWOOD CASINO ~ CASINO $ ~ HARPER’S FERRY TOUR LODGING ~ THURSDAY – FRIDAY, JULY 9-11, 2015 ~ COST: $175/PP* * WOHLFAHRT HAUS DINNER THEATRE: “GOSPEL JUBILEE” SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 2015 ~ COST: $85/PP (INCLUDES LUNCH) * OUTWEST LAND AND RAIL ADVENTURE ~ CALL FOR PACKAGE DETAILS ~ FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 11 - TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2015 PACKAGE COST: $4950/PP* * WOHLFAHRT HAUS DINNER THEATRE: “SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS” SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2015 ~ COST: $85/PP (INCLUDES LUNCH) * BILLY GRAHAM’S LIBRARY AND MUSEUM SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2015 ~ COST: $60/PP * WOHLFAHRT HAUS DINNER THEATRE: “CHRISTMAS AT WOHLFAHRT HAUS” SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2015 ~ COST: $85/PP (INCLUDES LUNCH) * CHRISTMAS AT THE BILTMORE ESTATE – ASHEVILLE, NC ~ ROUNDTRIP MOTORCOACH 2-NIGHTS LODGING/BILTMORE ESTATE TOUR ~ DINNER WEDNESDAY – FRIDAY DECEMBER 2-4, 2015 ~ COST: $395/PP** * FOR FULL DETAILS OF ALL LISTED TRAVEL: CALL JOYCE AT 540-977-0505 www.blueridgetravel.com or email at: jsmills0505@aol.com *BASED ON DOUBLE OCCUPANCY ~ SINGLE/TRIPLE/QUAD RATES ~ AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST TRAVEL INSURANCE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST CALL 540-977-0505 TODAY! It used to be travel insurance was a breeze to add to our travel plan. As many of you know, last year the travel insurance industry decided to change their way of doing business and, once I got through the “sticker shock”, it became my responsibility to pass this unwanted information along to you. That is why I now have to offer it to you as an option. However, I have found there are ways to keep the cost down and will continue to work on your behalf to make this part of your travel as painless as possible. If you elect to decline travel insurance for any of your travel through Blue Ridge Travel, a waiver form will be provided for your signature. ************************************************************************************************************* CHRISTMAS AT THE BILTMORE ESTATE DECEMBER 2-4, 2015 $395 Per Person (Based on Double Occupancy) A few years ago Blue Ridge Travel escorted a group of folks to Asheville, NC to visit its incredible Biltmore Estate. For the past couple of years, you have been teased with winter cruises in the Caribbean and for those of you who enjoy the cold, snowy weather, I am giving you a bit of a break. How about a lovely cruise in April of 2016? You will be onboard Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas for a 5-night cruise to Belize City and Cozumel, Mexico. Join the vivacious Dazzlin’ Dames, Red Hatters, and Friends as they embark on this fabulous cruise leaving out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. JUNE 3 – 17, 2016 I know a lot of this seems like a repeat of March’s Newsy Notes and you would be correct! However, a lot has happened since then and I would like to share that with you now. As you may recall, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) had a special promotion that was scheduled to end in May. It has been extended through the end of July! For those of you who wanted to sign up for this amazing adventure and thought you might be too late, you now have the opportunity to not only come onboard with us, but take advantage of the extended promotions. Call me at 540977-0505 and I will give you all the details and bring you up to date on pricing. So what else is new regarding Alaska, you may ask. This is not just another cruise. It’s also a land trip. Our adventure begins on June 3, 2016 as we depart Roanoke, VA and fly to Seattle, WA. After a couple of days exploring Seattle, we will board our ship, the Pearl, and begin a 7-day cruise of Alaska which includes the following ports of call: Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Victoria, British Columbia. We will also cruise Glacier Bay. Following our cruise, we will return to Seattle and fly to Anchorage, Alaska where reservations have been secured at a lovely historic hotel. Rest well because our Denali adventure is about to begin! It’s “All Aboard” the Alaskan Train as we embark on our journey to Denali. After a two-night adventure in Denali, we will return to Anchorage for two nights before bidding farewell to this majestic wilderness and returning home. Oh! Did I not mention the lovely Denali Lodge where we will be staying for two nights while in Denali? It is quite spectacular and we are so excited about our confirmed reservations!! Now, for those of you who have already signed up for this wonderful travel, I have a little homework for you. If there is something special you would like to do while in Alaska, let me know so I can research the possibilities on your behalf. So far we have the following requests: panning for gold, hiking, fishing, wild life search (bears, moose, etc.) museums, and ice cream! For those of you who have traveled with me before, you know there may be a few “surprises” along the way. I will keep you updated on these amazing travel plans as we continue to move forward.
