Beach battle 
Corporate and community teams will battle
for beach volleyball glory on Friday 17 April
in support of the Cherish Women’s Cancer
Foundation. Hosted by Olympic Beach
Volleyball gold medallist Natalie Cook, the
Battle Against Ovarian Cancer will help raise
much-needed funds for better treatments

Musical workshops 
A century of songs 
Harvest Rain Kids Theatre is hosting a
five-day performance workshop from
13 to 18 April culminating in public
performances of Disney’s ALADDIN KIDS
on 17 and 18 April. Specifically written
for young performers, the show involves
singing and dancing with guidance from
some of the most experience musical

domestic violence 

Brisbane's vintage, rockabilly, pin-up and
swing communities are rallying behind
Chrissy Keepence (aka Mistress Chrissy
of The Lindy Charm School for Girls) as
she battles cancer. The World's Greatest
Vintage Fundraising Fete will be held at the
Woolloongabba Antique Centre on Sunday
29 March from 9am to 5pm with live music,
dance, pin-up styling, classic cars, photo
shoots, vintage and collectable sales and
more! You don't need to book in advance but
a gold coin donation at the door is required.
Food truck fans get excited for Eats and
Beats, one of Queensland’s largest food
truck events with a unique night market
atmosphere. Held in the Ikea Logan
forecourt, a total of ten trucks will attend,
including the hugely popular King of Wings,
Little Back, Viva Paella and Vira Lata. There
will also be performances from Dave Powers
and Brisbane bands Neighbour, Inigo and
Pocket Love. From 5.30pm to 9pm, Friday 27

egg hunt
The seventh annual
Easter Egg Hunt is
being held at Bisset
Place Park, McDowall
from 10am on Sunday
29 March. This year’s hunt features around 50
kilograms of Easter eggs hidden throughout
the park by local volunteers, as well as a free
sausage sizzle, face painting, egg-and-spoon
races, potato sack races, a photo booth and
a visit from the Easter Bunny. Whoever finds
the golden egg will receive a $100 Toyworld

Red Republic CEO Fleur Madden and six
