Hiring for Summer Season
Recently approved funding means we can hire a technician to assist Program Manager Neils Munk with
the Six Streams Ecosystem Protection and Restoration Project and Sean Liipere Program Manager with
Phragmites Identification and Control.
Responsibilities






Assist with start up, design, installation and maintenance of alternate watering systems for
cattle
Recruit and manage volunteers to install cattle exclusion fencing
Help organize public workshops on best management practices re septic system awareness
Organize a volunteer culvert checking program to determine which culverts are barriers to fish
movement
Support volunteer community groups in phragmites identification and proper removal
techniques
Participate in habitat assessment of three streams: Judges Creek, Old Woman’s River and Stokes
River
Ideal Skills Required







Proven mechanical aptitude
Comfortable and competent in using different types of machinery safely
Formal education in environmental issues
Experience working with volunteers
Up to date computer skills
Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record
Access to a car
Preference given to individuals with strong connections to the Northern Bruce Peninsula
