Conference Overview:
This 2-day update in diagnostic immunohistochemistry in both surgical pathology and cytopathology, with a
format of didactic lecture and case-based presentation on diagnostically challenging cases in the fields of surgical
pathology and cytopathology, will allow practicing anatomic pathologists to become proficient in the application
of diagnostic IHC in different subspecialties. The conference, presented by national experts in the field of IHC,
will provide in-depth discussions on standardization of diagnostic IHC, newly described IHC markers, and
implementation of best practices in diagnostic IHC. This symposium will address questions that practicing
pathologists encounterin day-to-day practice and help residents and fellows with their specialty board exam
preparations.
Intended Audience and Conference Objectives:
This symposium is intended primarily for practicing pathologists, fellows, residents and other health care
professionals.
At the conclusion of this symposium, participants should be able to:





Describe the applications and pitfalls of newly described IHC markers
Apply the best practice concept of using IHC in daily practice
Demonstrate improvement in diagnostic skills in problematic surgical and cytologic cases
Recognize newly described entities in different organs
Communicate results effectively with the clinician and better appreciate the importance of triple test
(clinical, radiological and histologic) correlation
Accreditation:
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and
policies of the Medical Society of New Jersey (MSNJ) through the joint providership of Princeton
HealthCare System and the Chinese American Pathologists Association (CAPA). Princeton HealthCare
System is accredited by MSNJ to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
