My main skill is having the initiative, drive and knowledge to come up with a marketing plan and execute the entire thing myself from conception to evaluation. At my last company I was responsible for a 26% profit increase, I also created enough business to merit hiring an assistant, who I trained and managed. I’m looking for a marketing executive or assistant manager role that allows me to continue to be really hands on across the marketing mix and to work in a team on bigger projects. Events & Marketing Manager Event Planning Initially employed to take restaurant/events bookings but I saw that more could be done to improve business so I created the Events Department. Dealt primarily with large corporate banks alongside a host of other VIP clients. Generally the events I ran were small/medium scale, maximum 500 guests with expenditure of £15-20k. Worked closely with the client, from discussing conception to hosting on the night and dealing with budgets and feedback from clients. Organised product launches/ meetings/ conferences/ drinks & canapé parties/ dinners/ cookery classes/ wine tastings/ cocktail classes and wedding receptions. As a direct result of my work in the company, The Meredith Group made a 26% profit on the same period the previous year, allowing me to hire an assistant as I had created additional work for myself. Create and ensure delivery of all marketing materials and advertising for each venue, liaising with key stakeholders and agencies as relevant. I learnt a lot about the technical aspect of planning an event, budgets, logistics, administration and Health & Safety being the key focus points. Open Degree in Social Marketing (May-Oct 2008) Diploma of Higher Education Open (E60) - pass A short course looking at ethics and the behavioural changes in public perceptions brought on through marketing and the new approach of using advertising to promote a healthier mind and environment instead of selling a product. (BA HONOURS) Visual Communication 2.1 (2005-2009) Robert Gordon University, Gray’s School of Art. A practical and academic course that investigates the application of illustration, drawing, photography, typography, digital technology, animation and printmaking. In my honours year I specialised in advertising, web-design and animation. I am a keen boxer, regularly teaching my own class, and spend a lot of time outside exercising. There is always an abundance of cake in the office when I’m around as I bake a lot!
