Virgin River Student Conservation Internship Teacher Employment Announcement Employer: Washington County School District Job location: Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR), Native Aquatics Field Office, 451 N. SR-318, Hurricane, UT, 84737 Number of positions: 1 position available as an extension to current Washington County School District employees Term of employment: June 1, 2015 – July 17, 2015 (no work June 29 – July 3) Hours of work: 40 hours per week – Monday through Friday Salary: extension of current contract Position description: The selected teacher will assist with supervision of a crew of 5 student interns and provide direction and guidance to the interns on various projects integral to Virgin River Basin native fish recovery and conservation. The teacher will participate and assist with all UDWR field work efforts including: endangered fish population monitoring, habitat mapping, stream habitat restoration, exotic species removal, native plant re-vegetation, and riparian restoration. Additional projects may be added at a later date. Requirement: Applicants must have an interest in native wildlife management and conservation, and be willing to work outdoors under potentially harsh and adverse field conditions. All applicants must be able to swim.
