FACT SHEET UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS Laos Bachelor’s Level Empowering underprivileged youth in the Mekong Sub-Region to shape their own future Aim We provide scholarship support for talented Laotian students to attend tertiary education in Laos. With the advantage of higher education, Laotian youth have improved skills and knowledge, access to better employment and serve as future facilitators, promoting tolerance and diversity and contributing to the development of their communities. University Scholarship support for Laotian Bachelor’s students Laos greatly lacks educational infrastructure and educational opportunities, particularly when it comes to options for students living in remote and rural areas. We have built more than 100 schools in Laos since the beginning of 2006 in cooperation with the Laotian Ministry of Education. Some high school students have the academic potential to continue studying at one of the five government universities in Laos. The selection process involves assessment of submitted documentation (required application forms and essays) and personal interviews. Consideration is also given to the balance of genders. A team of three staff members carefully evaluates each application, makes the selection accordingly and provides ongoing support for students for the duration of their studies. We provide individual student reporting to donors on a semester basis. Contact us: Child’s Dream Foundation 238/3 Wualai Road, T. Haiya, A.
